There are many ADVANTAGES when it comes to modern technology. One advantage is that connects people from all over the world.
However, it does have some major limitations. One limitation is that it could ALIENATE or ISOLATE an individual.
What are some advantages and limitations about technology for you?
What do you think the world will look like in 100 years as technology continues to advance?
Explain.
I Think that technology is awesome, It allows you to talk people who you haven't seen in forever or if your friend moves away you can still keep contact with them, one of the downsides to it is that everyone needs to buy wifi. This means that if you don't have wifi you basically can't do anything, since most things require wifi such as searching for jobs and school.

DeleteWhile i'm obsessed with technology i totally agree that it can come with a lot of disadvantages.Some advantages it comes with for me is that it helps me keep in touch with my friends all the time,this especially came in handy during coronaviru pandemic.Since we needed to social distance ourselves facetime was a huge thing for me.It also keeps me in line with what’s happening in the real world i get all the news and other important information off of websites,podcasts,youtube E.T.C. There’s also amazing sources on line that can help with school or work.Some disadvantages is that it can get addicting and become unhealthy by always having to be attached to devices.It can also affect your mentality ,so many things are put up online that aren’t all true and can get into peoples heads.I don’t know what technology will turn into in 100 years but i do think it’s just going to become more of a tool in life and it will escalate to so many more things!

DeleteI think that technology will be out of control in 100 years. It’s already a major part of everyone's lives right now and if there's going to be even more, then that won’t be healthy for people because the technology will be “controlling” us. With more technology less people will interact with each other face to face. This would be a sad world to live in my opinion because although I love using my phone and other sources or technology it’s not very healthy for you.

DeleteTechnology Is a BIG thing already, just imagine how BIG it will be in 100 years. Already there are so many online jobs in the future there will be so many more. People with not lots of money will be able to cheaply but super powerful computers. And that's when my first example comes to place OPPORTUNITY technology gave us so much more opportunity another example, when your sick you go home. But with technology you can still get a little work done on your computer. There are so many more amazing things that I can relate tech to opportunity but now I will move on to disadvantage. Now I have experience thing one myself this summer being 1 month and a week without any tech can be very challenging because we DEPEND on them. Dependency is becoming a lot more popular as tech evolves example, people who read the journal on their phone or influences who their job is literally related to tech and a bunch more people that DEPEND on tech. So to sum everything up my two quick and simple definition for tech are OPPORTUNITY and DEPENDENCE.

DeleteI love technologie, I literally use it everyday for multiple hours. Some advantages of technology is, it can make your work get done faster especially because you are typing it up. It can as well save paper since trees won't be cut as much. Technology makes things easier by not having to look in a big book but instead search it up. There are multiple disadvantages in technology for example you can get a virus or get hacked. If ever the power or the internet goes out, you can't do much. Technology can make you depressed mainly because of social media. In 100 years technology will improve enormously, computers will be even thinner and they will go surprisingly faster. Who knows instead of computers someone could unexpectedly invent holograms.

DeleteI totally agree with you! Technology and social media can definitely have an impact on people, whether that impact is positive or negative. I guess it depends on how you use it and how you let it influence you. You made some great points!
DeleteSo before I talk (or write in this case) about advantages and disadvantages of technology, I would like to say that I disagree with your statement about technology being able to alienate people. I feel this way because 4.57 billion people exist on the internet, and out of all those people, there are a wide variety of groups, which makes it almost impossible to be alienated, no matter how niche your interest is.

I feel that in 100 years, technology will be very different compared to now. Currently, technology is a seperate being from us, but it is very likely that in 100 years, technology will become one with man, which can be a double edged sword. The good is that it can allow humans to become much more efficient and make less mistakes. The bad is that it makes humans lose their humanity. The point of being human is to make mistakes, learn, talk to people, mess things up, that's all human, but technology will get rid of all these things and replace it with something artificial, a hollow husk of a human

DeleteI do think that will probably happen. The only thing is that I really hope that doesn't happen and it just happens to do something like I think of something and it googles it instantly. That would be cool, but if it was like replace legs and arms when they were perfectly normal, that would suck, but if people don't have arms and can have a prosthetic arm, I think that would be cool.
DeleteI think in 100 years from now, technology will definitely be a big life changer. It will for sure be improved and everything will probably all be made to look modern, and there will be many technological advancements. There are a lot of advantages with having/using technology, we are able to communicate with friends and family when we need to or if we want to FaceTime with friends, especially during the pandemic and we weren’t really able to see friends and family. Another advantage is that you are able to do work faster by typing things up and searching for information on Google, it’s way easier to do that than to do research by paper, books, etc. But there are definitely many disadvantages to using technology, humans are quite attached to their electronic devices, they waste most of their time just looking at screens instead of enjoying the outside and the nature, etc.

DeleteTechnology definitely has it's advantages and disadvantages. Lots of people have a a source of technology these days, not only is it highly recommended but it is also useful in many ways. It helps people interact and connect through the internet (ex. FaceTime, Instagram, Snapchat, etc) In other words, it helps people with their social lives. Many people also use technology for work because of the sites and sources that are available to help people. The disadvantages is people can become quite obsessed and addicted to using their technological device which may cause lack of sleep and an unhealthy habits. They might rely to much on the Internet for answers. Any app that involves chatting, face-timing or posting can also be dangerous because the person on the other line might not be who they say they are, so always be careful about who you talk to, what you send and what you post. Aside from that, in 100 years I think technology will either be super advanced or there might not be none at all. Instead of having to FaceTime or text someone, you might be able to just press a button and teleport to them, who knows.

DeleteI find an advantage of technology is that you really can communicate with people from around the world. For example, there's this one family that we met in Aruba, and without technology, we probably wouldn't stay in touch. As far as limitations go, I think that the only real limitation is that we do isolate ourselves sometimes because we’re so hooked on our electronics that we forget that there’s a whole world around us. I personally am a technology lover, and I’m especially an Apple lover, I love everything Apple and I get excited over the silliest things. For example, today, I got so excited about the new IOS update that’s coming out tomorrow that I literally screamed in my room because I was filled with excitement. I was also so incredibly happy about the new WatchOS update along with the 2 new apple watches. These are only updates today, and they’re already incredible, so I think that in 100 years, technology is going to be out of this world because think of what they’ve accomplished already with technology, and now picture that in 100 years, it’ll be amazing.

DeleteWhat I find are many advantages about technology is that earlier before you had technology if you we're moving some where else far away from your friends you wouldn't be able to talk to them anymore but now with so much social media you will always be able to stay in contact with your long-distance friends. Another example is that you have so much more knowledge because before would just learn new things as you were going along with your education, now if want to learn something new you can just go on your search engine and find it right there but, with all good things the there are bad. For instance, there are now many online scams like you have a virus that will destroy your computer click here to let us fix and join this free giveaway all you have to do is put in your credit card information. In many movies they say that robots will take over the world future or 100 years but I don't believe that is true because if you create a robot that has a job that is so important like its in charge of the internet I would think that you would have an off switch to it.
ReplyDeleteI think that in 100 years, technology will be so advanced that we could go to mars. By that time, AI will be extremely smart and will do everything for us such as driving cars, cooking, surgery etc. Technology, however, has limitations. Technology cant to everything for us. Right now, it cant drive our cars for us, it cant cook etc. Plus, even though it is really cool it can also lead to bad things to like not going outside or not socializing face to face. There are probably more positive things about technology than negative things. It has helped us a lot through human history. Now because of it, you can make money. There are plenty of jobs out there that require technologies. I think it really makes things more convenient and it is quite entertaining too.

DeleteSome of the advantages to the internet is that you have a lot of information at such easy access. I think it is super useful because it is really easy to just research something for a research project or look for anything at all. Another advantage to the internet is that you can sell things like on ebay or kijiji which is good for the economy and it is a good way to get items and useful things without having to leave your home. The internet is great but it is also sometimes dangerous. An limitation in the internet is that you cannot play or do anything online without being at risk, the internet I find does not do such a good job at protecting people that use it which I find is a big problem. Another limitation is that it does not make people's lives happier, it makes them sadder people are always worrying about their social media or whatever they do online and it isn't healthy for people to live like that.

I love technology and there are so many advantages when it comes to technology for me like doing school work, being notified, communication, etc. Although technology is amazing and helps make my everyday life way much easier there are also multiple disadvantages in technology for me and everyone, like being on technology too long. This is a huge problem in our society since people get so addicted to their phones they don’t even realize how much time is passing by and they are not being active. It’s funny how adults say “technology has taken over the world” but we’re not even close to that especially when thinking of what the world will look like in one hundred years. Technology improves nearly everyday so in one hundred years the world will be completely filled with advanced technology that we can’t even think of creating today.

DeleteI’m constantly on my phone because it has everything on it. I can talk to my friends, take pictures, do school work, etc. Those are some pretty big advantages of it; everything is on the same device. Although, technology does have a lot of down sides. For example, a lot of people stay cooped up in their room without any real life socializing. This is a problem because then they won’t have any social skills when it comes to the real world. I definitely think that technology will be a huge part of the world in 100 years. People are already creating crazy things with it, so who knows what will be there in the future.

DeleteI think some huge advantages to technology are the communications you can make through it. E-mails, texts, calls whatever you will, it's all so useful and can even be a legitimate lifesaver when it comes to being in public and a crime is being committed or something along those lines. A huge limitation is not getting reception everywhere. I feel like in 100 years, we would've found out how to make it, so we can get reception everywhere, that way in the most dire situations, we can still use our technology to our advantage.
ReplyDeleteI personally enjoy having the technology we have today, because it can connect you to others from all around the world, or even just friends you haven't seen in a long time. There are also different ways to communicate such as E-mails, texts phone calls or video calls. I feel that in 100 years, the world can end up in two different situations. It might be a place where there is technology everywhere, available for everyone to use and it will become an even more essential part of life then it is now, helping people through their everyday lives. The other way I can see things is a world where people rely too much on the modern technology and start to forget things and that there is more of a world other than just the internet. Either way, the technology that we currently have is extremely helpful to us every day.
ReplyDeleteSome advantages of technology would be that it allows me to communicate with my friends and family at a distance. Since I live far away from my friends it's hard to see them except for when I’m at school. Technology has made it possible to see and stay in contact with my friends through texts, chats and video conferencing especially during quarantine. A disadvantage of technology is that sometimes when I’m talking with my friends I get carried away with time and I forget that I have other stuff to do. Sometimes I have to rush to get some of my work done and I’m not doing my best work. In 100 years I don’t know what technology will be like but I’m sure that it will become an even bigger part of our lives. I fear that it may take over our physical bodies and make us be stuck in a room using virtual reality.

DeleteI think that using technology is great! There are some advantages and disadvantages to technology, but the advantages are pretty good. I get to talk to my friends on FaceTime, I have a computer to do all my school work on and I can stay at home and binge watch some Netflix. The disadvantages of technology are that there is a lot of online bullying, not all sources online are reliable and accessible and there is a lot of hacking and identity theft.

I think that there will be a lot more advancements in technology, like robots working jobs, cars that can drive themselves and many more unbelievable things now. I think this will happen because science and technology are getting more and more advanced, who knows maybe an invention one day will be known and used forever.

ReplyDeleteTechnology has many advantages and disadvantages. Some advantages are that you can talk to people all around the world with Facetime, emails, phone calls, etc. My phone has always come in handy when I'm lost and I need to either find directions or when I need to call someone during an emergency. I have found that some disadvantages are that sometimes I can get addicted to my phone (for example, on instagram, tik tok, etc). I have had a phone number and data plan for around 2 years, but before that it was so annoying because if I wasn't connected to the internet/Wifi I would be stuck in a dangerous situation. I don't know what it will be like in 100 years, but I think there will be more medical solutions and there won't be a need to always be connected to the internet because we won't need it.

DeleteIn 100 years technology will be out of this world. I think that technology will go very far, very soon. It is already a big part of our lives soon enough it will be our whole lives. I love technology, I use it everyday. It makes it so much easier to communicate with friends and family, watch TV and many other things. In the future I see flying cars and computers that are so thin that you can’t see them from the sides. Even though by using technology there are some disadvantages like viruses, hacking and the internet not loading fast enough, I’m sure we will invent ways to prevent these problems.

ReplyDeleteQuarantine saviour: helped you in literally everything during quarantine season. In school, at home, it helped a whole lot. It made me feel less lonely, less bored. I made a lot of online friends using social media, it makes me happy in so many ways :)
Disadvantages: CYBER- BULLYING, feeling left out because of some dumb group chat, friends leaving you one by one. Social media in general is a disadvantage.
Me talking about a 100 years of advanced technology:
My 1st theory is that: In 100 years, technology will be so advanced, it’ll probably super cool and super dangerous. The future might be technology advanced but what about people? We’ll get robots, humanoids. This is just a crazy theory :)
My 2nd theory is that it wouldn’t change much. It’s been around a decade since I was born and not a lot has change. We’re humans, we don’t make a lot of advancements or discoveries. Sure, maybe a few things changed like the transportation or the way we dressed, chances are not much will probably change :)
I feel as if tecnologie advancing as the human race would be too. Because as our thought procces evolves I feel as if we can come with many more new ideas. But with ideas comes new replacements so I think that many things will be replaced with shortcuts because humans just love to make the day easier. In modern times we akready see shortcuts appering like apps. I think the changes will be for the better but it still amazes me how weve come so far as a race just imagine in 100 years everything will be so much moore diffrent and much more advanced.
ReplyDeleteI believe that there are many advantages to technology such as something simple like communicate with friends and family to do school work and the more complex things like vehicles, systems, machinery etc... and honestly I don't believe that there are very many limitations to technology as we keep on evolving so does technology. Possibly in the future there will be holograms and phones as thin as paper, teleportation and much more.
ReplyDeleteI personally think that humans will be able fusing with technology and will become a cyborg. I really hope that it isn't something like being able to cut off working limbs and replace them with tech, I personally think that that is messed up, but I think that if people can get like the Iphone 30 and it can be either the size of an Ipad now because the screen is only getting bigger, or having it like in glasses form would be kinda cool. Being able to like think of what you want to do and see it happen on the glasses is kinda cool in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteThe advantages of technology is that I can literally text my friend from across the world and she'll get in about 2 seconds. This is great when there is an emergency, if I need to call my parents I can reach them really quickly which is great. I love all the new updates and I get so excited when something new and cool comes out. I absolutely love the new IOS 14 update and its new features. There are lots of things that are useful like FaceTime. Since Corona Virus happened, I wasn't really able to see my friends like I was before so now I can FaceTime and I made it something that I do after school, like I'll do homework with a friend or if I just wanna talk. My cousin lives in Laval so I don't get to see her often so we FaceTime almost every weekend which is fun. Some things I don't like is that there are hackers and you can't really be certain that you and only you can control your phone. Like when parents get apps to turn off your phone at night or limit your screen time, what if other people are capable of doing the same so I don't like that. Also Its very, very addicting. As I was saying before, parents need to turn off their child's phone at night so that they don't stay up on it all night. Some people have screen time and it goes up to 5 hours plus a day which is really bad for you. Anyways I don't know what technology is going to look like in 100 years from now but it will probably super advance, even though sometimes I think something bad is going to happen and everything is just going to stop lol.
