As we continue reading Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" we learn that some of the characters are referred to as animals.

Helena even calls herself a "spaniel" dog!

How about you? Think about your personality.  What animal best suits your personality?

If Mr. Katz could change you into an animal, which animal would he change you into?

Explain

  1. I think if I could change into an animal I would pick a turtle, because turtles are curious and sometimes aren't aware of the danger of the outside world. Which i can relate to sometimes when I'm in public. And of course not because my parents didn't educate me but because its just like that. Another thing that makes me resemble a turtle is their neck. "Facts are based of my own turtle" They have a few stages first is the completely out and this is when the turtle feels at its fullest it isn't scared of doing anything which again might lead to it falling in a hole or a predator. The second stage is the not so sure stage, this one is usually when its aware of its surroundings and is ready to hide in its shell at all times. And finally the last stage is its shell. When its scared it hides in its shell, stay's away from society to be on its own. That's why I feel like I have these attributes of like being like a turtle.

    1. I totally see this in you. This animal describes you perfectly. Plus, I actually have a pet turtle!

    2. I really liked the part where you said that it's aware of its surroundings!

    3. I totally agree with you when you say you'd be a turtle, especially when you said curious, as you can be extremely curious!

  2. I think that a turtle describes my personality because I can be really slow sometimes and lazy and tired. But, I do a lot of sports so I’m fast (turtles when they swim). I think that Mr. Katz would turn me into a Sloth because I’m very lazy and I can be stubborn sometimes. I also like to relax and sleep and I’m usually really tired.

    1. Yeah I think Mr. Katz thinks most people are like sloths to be honest.

    2. I relate to being lazy but active at the same time.
You're statements make a lot of sense!

    3. Satya, reading this made me laugh and I like how you compare yourself to a turtle. Great job!

    4. I laughed out loud reading that you think Mr Katz would make you a sloth. Good blog

  3. I'd say I would want to be turned into a bat, because flying is pretty cool and I think im most energetic at night, since I'm just tired all the time during school, I'd also never have someone saying to go outside and get your vitamin D because I can't get vitamin D at night I think. I think Mr. Katz would say I'd be a sloth because I don't like to do anything in class and prefer to just sit and do nothing.

  4. I think if I could be an animal I would be a dog.Id be a dog because I can be full of energy and be able to run around everywhere and move like crazy and have a fun, crazy energy. Then after letting all my energy out I can get really tired and moody and start complaining to my friends and family, like dogs complain to get out or to get a treat. If Mr.Katz were to change into an animal id say he'd be a gorilla or monkey because there actually really intelligent and they are quite energetic just like mr Katz.

  5. I think I would be a lioness not because their fierces but because they have their momments where their quiet and patient and then they also have there momments that their energetique I think I have days where I can be like that where im more talkative and days where im just tired and not feeling it that day.

  6. I think the animal that best describes me is a great white shark. Its the best I can think of. One reason is that a shark is pretty fast and I am too. Great white's are also carnivore's (which means that they only eat meat). Of course, I'm not a carnivore but I do like to eat the meat first in a meal. Great whites also have an aggressive nature and I think I have one too. I usually snap at things that bother me too much. One time at a birthday party, it was getting really chaotic and some people were pushing me, yelling in my ears and to me it was pushing my limits. So when I couldn't take it, I had a plastic hockey stick in my hand and started whacking and hurting people around me. That wasn't a really good day. Some aspects that a Great White has aren't what I have. For example, Great Whites are big, strong and heavy. I'm the lightest smallest kid in the class. I'm also not the strongest kid either.

  9. I think for me a animal who represents my personality is a snail. The snail is a calm creature and I think I'm regularly pretty calm about tings except it comes to test for some reason that gets me really anxious. Another reason why I chose a snail is because they are that they are not feared in the his habitats but some of them can be deadly like the Conus marmoreus and that to me is a metaphor for that I'm not to be feared by anyone but I can get a little angry or dangerous well not dangerous. I think if Mr.Katz was animal it would be the sloth because there pretty calm and take things slow. And I think that Mr.Katz isn't one of those crazy shoving everything in to one class and giving lodes of homework to do for tomorrow.

  10. If I were to pick an animal that describes myself, I would chose a giraffe although they are really tall and I am not I would still consider my personality like theirs. Giraffes live in herd with no leader. I really don't like it when there is a boss. I would prefer if everyone make the decisions together. Giraffes eat a lot during the day and so do I. If Mr Katz had to change me into an animal it would be a sloth because he said I reminded him of one.

    1. Same I feel that everyone should be treated equally, it strengthens the dynamic of the group. I also love food so I totally relate with what you said about giraffes eating a lot during the day.

  11. I think an animal that best represents me is either an owl or phoenix. Even though a Phoenix is a mythological creature, it still has many traits similar to the owl. Both the owl and Phoenix represent transformation, something I always strive for. There is always room for improvement , so I aim to be the best possible version of myself. I like to believe I’m intuitive, maybe see what others do not see. An owl is the same, it sees beyond deceit and masks making it quite hard to fool. Both these birds are said to carry great wisdom, always optimistic about learning knew knowledge and passing it on to others and that is something I find in myself. I think Mr.Katz would be a dolphin because they are very cheerful and sociable.

  13. I think that if I were to be an animal, I would be a panda for a few reasons. First, pandas tend to be very mischievous and I can definitely be mischievous and get into trouble sometimes. Second, pandas are not the smartest animals on the planet just like I’m not the smartest human being on the planet. Lastly, pandas can be a little stupid, and so can I. For example, the other day I walked into a wall because I wasn’t paying attention. That’s why I think that I would be a panda. I don’t really know what animal Mr.Katz would turn me into because I don’t know how he thinks, but I would be interested to see what animal he thinks I would be.

      Great blog!

    3. I don't think you're stupid, Emily. You're very smart in my opinion. Great blog!!

  14. I think an animal that describes my personality is an otter. The otter is an enthusiastic, energetic, spontaneous and friendly animal. They've got appealing personalities and mix easily with just about anyone. They love people and are often the life of the party. They have great sense of humor, infectious laughter, and often regale groups of people with stories. In my opinion these are traits that I have. Also, the otter can be super energetic and do a whole lot of activities (like how I play a lot of sports) but, they can also lay on a rock in the sun and sleep for practically a whole entire day (like how I can sleep for up to 24 hours).

If Mr. Katz could change me into an animal, I think he would change me into a koala because they are very lazy and tired all the time and they like to eat a lot. This refers to me because usually I enter school with a very tired look on my face (because I don't want to be there), and I am usually snacking on something (because I love food).

    1. I think the idea of being an otter is really cool! Also, I can completely relate to coming into school looking very tired because I just wish I could sleep in and not go to school.

  15. I think the animal that describes me the best is probably a crow. I seem sort of quiet from what I've been told by my friends at first. I may seem mysterious and quiet like a crow when it's not screaming its head off, but once you warm up to me, Im actually really loud and quite honestly funny, just like the sound a crow makes, loud and silly. The only thing I'm missing is wearing all black clothes to school!

    1. Did you know that crows like shiny things and sometimes find shiny thing to decorate their nests

  16. The animal that I see myself as is a lone wolf because lone wolves are very independent and I’m a very independent person. I find I’m independent because working with others is not my strong point and alone I do my best work. Wolves in general are very loud especially when they howl. If you get to know and talk to me you will start to see that I’m very loud. I tend to talk very loudly because I like to hear my voice. As well wolves eat a lot and I really like to eat a bunch of food. I asked Mr. Katz what he thought of my personality and he said that he found me active. I interpreted the word active as active in my work. I believe Mr. Katz thinks I am a squirrel! During the fall squirrels are “actively”preparing for winter and they work very hard just like me.

  17. I think that my spirit animal would be a raccoon because raccoons are crafty with their hands and I love doing art and things that you need your hands a lot. Raccoons are more or less clean for an animal that eats garbage and they wash their hands in peoples pools or puddles before they eat. I think that if Mr. Katz had magical powers, he would turn me into a cat because I like cats and I asked him on monday and he said that I was a cat.

  18. If I would be an animal, I would probably be a bird. Based on what I’ve seen my bird do, I’m very much like him. He tweets a lot when he’s happy, which is a lot like me. I talk a bunch when I get excited or I'm around people I'm very close with. My bird also sleeps and sits around his cage all day. I also do that when I’m home and have nothing to do.

  19. If I was an animal, I would be a hawk. I don't really know why but I always give off some hawk like instincts. I always try to observe before making conclusions about something. Hawks observes their prey before swooping in and kill them :) Hawks have a tendency to attack you if you get too close to their nests and I relate to that a lot. When a teacher or a classmate gets closed to my area or my bubble, I tend to be really uncomfortable and I try to shoo them away. If Mr. Katz would turn me into a parrot because I talk a lot, and sometimes i'm really hyper and excited. My friend's parrot would move his head to the music and try to sing and I would do the same :D

  20. I have no clue what animal I would be. I did a few online quizzes and the ones that I think suit me the most are either a dolphin or a cat. A dolphin because I think I'm pretty sociable and I like talking to new people. A cat because one of my favourite pastimes is sleeping. I think Mr. Katz would turn me into a parrot because I have a lot to say and I can be noisy in class sometimes.

  22. If I was an animal, I think I would be a Hawk. I think I would be a hawk because hawks observe more then they do things, which happens to be something I do often in and out of school. I find it much easier to learn when I am listening to other people to talk rather then have the teacher call on me randomly when were doing something like going over math equations or something like that. I don't really know what animal mr Katz would turn me into, but it would probably something annoying and loud, because, well, I am.

  23. If I was an animal, I feel like I would be a cat. I just feel like a lot of the time, I seem tired and like I want to be left alone, but then later I will be talking with my friends and having fun. I also have a friend who has 3 cats and her cats always act like that. They always run away from you at first like they want to be left alone, but then later they will come up to you and will cuddle you and let you pet them. I feel like that's why I'd be a cat. I'm not sure what animal Mr. Katz would turn me into because I don't know how he sees me from his point of view.

  24. If I were an animal I'm pretty sure that I should be a snail. I did some research and it said that snails may be slow but they use up a lot of energy. I think that I'm a snail because I can be very energetic and hyper but I can also be very lazy and tired. I think Mr. Katz would turn me into a dog because I love to move around, whenever he comes in the class we are doing Just Dance to let out energy.

  25. If I were any animal I would choose to be some kind of bird because I have alway wanted to be able to fly but if I had to base it on my personality I think I would be a dog because they can be really lazy but they can also have a lot of energy just like me. If i had to pick an animal for mr kazt i would think he would be a dolphin because they seem very positive and cheerful.

  26. If I were an animal I think that I would be a cat. I am really lazy and I like to sleep all day but at the same time I have a lot of energy and sometimes I can’t stop moving. Another reason that I am a lot like a cat is because I am very independent and like doing things on my own. I love spending time outside and a weird fact that me and cats both have in common is that I have a fear of lakes, rivers, oceans, and some pools and cats are scared of water so we kinda have that in common. I think Mr. Katz would think that I am like an old dog because in class I am very mellow and don’t and join a lot of discussions in class.

  27. I feel that the animal that would represent me the best would be some kind of bird. I feel this way because birds can be extremely hard working yet they can immensely slack off at the same time, which I find hilarious as it describes me perfectly! Birds can also be loud, and as yall know I am extremely loud! Mr. Katz for the record has stated I would be roadkill, which I actually don't disagree with! Who knows... maybe I could be roadkill for halloween!

  28. I think that the animal that matches my personality is probably a dog, because they are always energetic and calm ( sometimes ). I can be quite energetic some days but not all the time. But if i were to be specific, the dog that would match my personality is definitely a french bulldog. Frenchies are lazy and I’ve done some research on the laziest dogs because that is another thing that really describes me! But french bulldogs are also very sociable and energetic too. I like to move around except for when we do gym classes. If Mr. Katz were to turn me into an animal, it would probably be sloth or something, I’m pretty lazy and slow most of the time.
