  1. The purpose of rememberance day is to remember the soldiers that lost their lives fighting for our rights. I think that it's important to remember the soldiers because without their sacrifices life right now would've been very different. I for sure hope it'll still be celebrated and I think it will be still celebrated.

  2. I think that if we continue to celebrate remembrance day every year up to 50, in 50 we should still be celebrating it because its a sacrifice that the soldiers did for us and for all future generations. Like think of it if one person does not live that breaks a huge genealogic tree. The purpose of remembrance day is to "remember" the soldiers who fought for us and the sacrifices they had to take. And yes I think that its important to remember sacrifices made by people for causes because we don't want those to repeat.

  3. The purpose of Remembrance Day is to honour the soldiers that lost their lives fighting for our country. Remembrance Day does have a lot of meaning to me because I had family who either fought or were alive during the wars, therefore I believe it’s important to commemorate them and all the other solders who lost their lives. It is important to remember the sacrifices the soldiers made during the war and to honour them for their bravery. I believe it Remembrance Day will still be celebrated in 50 years, it’s been 100 years since the first war and Remembrance Day is still a big holiday so I do have hope that it will still be celebrated in 50 years.

  4. Remembrance day is a memorial day that we Canadians and other members of the Commonwealth have celebrated since the end of the First World War in order to remember all those who fought and died in order to keep us free. Remembrance day means a lot to me because I can’t even imagine what people went through. Not just the soldiers but also their family members, not knowing if or when my loved one was going to die, that’s terrifying. It is important as we remember their service and sacrifice, we recognize the tradition of freedom that these men and women fought to preserve. They believed that their actions in the present would make a significant difference in the future, but it is up to us to make their dream of peace come true. I most certainly think that Remembrance Day will still be celebrated 50 years from now because if we didn’t it would be very disrespectful and their bravery would not be remembered, hence forth, why we celebrate remembrance day.

  5. I think that the purpose of Remembrance Day is to thank those who have passed serving and/or giving their lives for our country. I definitely think that Remembrance Day means a lot to me because I really appreciate the fact that some people fight for our country knowing the sacrifices that they might have to make. I think that it’s very important to honour the lives of the people who have sacrificed themselves for our country because we couldn’t be where we are today if it weren’t for them. I think that Remembrance day will still be celebrated in 50 years because if we have been celebrating it for this long, we’re probably going to continue to celebrate it.

  6. Remembrance day is about commemorating and to honour all of the people that lost their lives fighting to keep the people today, free. Remembrance day means a lot to me because those people who fought in the wars gave us all the freedom and rights we have today. Those people sacrifice their lives to help us live the life that we currently have and everything they did was for a reason. We couldn’t have been where we are right now if it weren’t for them, all of the things they fought for. I think that it’s very important to remember it because it’s a big part of our history/past that made us who we are today. Remembrance day will for sure be celebrated in 50 years, because it’s been about 100 years since the war and we have been doing it since, and it’s to honour those soldiers who, everyday had risked their lives for the future generations. It’s good to keep this alive because this is something big that we should all remember.

  7. The purpose of Remembrance Day is to be able to think about all of the soldiers that died for our safety. If it weren't for them, most of us wouldn't be here, and it would be a very scary time that we would hypothetically live in. Remembrance day has a lot of meaning to me because it really does make me think about all of the soldiers who were able to make the entire world safer and the ones who had to make the ultimate sacrifice to be able to let us have the comfortable life that we live in. It also makes me think about my Great-Grandfather, who I don't remember meeting, he was an engineer who went to the front lines to be able to deliver the munitions, food, water to the front line soldiers. I think that remembrance day should always be practiced, as they did die for us and that sacrifice should be honored.

  8. The purpose of Remembrance day is to remember the soldiers who faught and died for us during the wars. Remembrance day is a very important day for me because when I think about the day I think of all the soldiers fighting and putting there life at risk so the people will have freedom. I think it is very important to reflect on the sacrifices the soldiers made because they were really courageous to go out and fight. If it weren't for them who know how we would be living. The sacrifices made in the war were to protect us and I believe that it is important to remember that. I think that in 50 we will still be celebrating Remembrance day because it is really important. People should never forget the sacrifices that others have done and are continuing to do so that we could enjoy our freedoms.

  9. Remembrance day is about honouring those who lost their lives, their families, their loved ones fighting in wars. The day and the meaning of why we commemorate this day is beautiful, to cherish the ones who lost their lives, celebrating freedom those soldiers gave to us. It's important to acknowledge and remembered those who gave their lives for YOUR freedom, your rights. I really really hope that remembrance day will still be celebrated in 50 years and more!

  10. I think that no matter what remeberance day should always be celebrated because we shall never forget who died so we can live a happy life. Its important to always know why we celebrate remeberance day and the history behind it. Im glad we have a day all about remebering those soldiers and families that lost their lives and their homes due to bombs and other miltary weapons. I think everyone of Canada should wear the poppy with pride to our country and everyday we should be thankful for those who contribuated into keeping our country safe. Remeberance day should definatly be a tradition here in Canada.

  11. Remembrance day marks the day World War One ended, the 11 hour of the 11 day of the 11 month. This day means to cherish the lives that were taken and respect each and everyone of the soldiers who fought to keep our country safe. It is very important to remember the sacrifices made in the war because those people are the reason why we are living safe in Canada today. I think remembrance day will be celebrated in 50 years and many after that.

  12. I think the purpose of Remembrance Day is to honor those who have fought and sacrificed their lives for us. Remembrance Day doesn't have a direct meaning to me but I think for those people out there whose family members have been sent to war it does. I think Remembrance Day is very important because it's a day to honor men and women who have fought in wars to save others' lives. I don’t know if Remembrance Day will be celebrated in 50 years from now since I can’t travel into the future. Even if i can’t travel into the future I really hope that Remembrance Day is celebrated in 50 years from now because then who will honor the people who do so much for us?

  13. I think rememberance day is extremly important because it shows that we still honor and remember those who died for us during wars or battles. I think it is extremly important to celebrate rememberance day because it would be extremly rude to not take just a few minutes of our days on one day a year to thank those who died in wars. I think it will be celebrated for a long long time until something extremly bad happens or people forget in like 1000 years

  14. I believe that the purpose of remembrance day well it's kind of in the name to remember all the people who have sacrificed their life for this country or other countries and it does mean war but not just fighting it's also the people who created the weapon/gear for the soldiers and many other people. For I don't think that remembrance day for me is as meaningful as some others because my ancestors came from England, Belgium and France so none of my ancestors have fought the wars in Canada and none of them have died from a war. Of course it's important to remember the sacrifices in war for any war because in order to reduce the amount of wars we need to see the sadness and sacrifices of war to stop wars. I think we will remember remembrance day but not as much or if there's another war then we might do remembrance day even more.

  15. I think that Remembrance day is one of the most important days of the year. It is the one day a year that we pay our respect to the soldiers who made sacrifices to make our world a better place. To me it is very important to honor the brave men and women who went to war and fought for our country. I sadly don think Remembrance day will be celebrated in 50 years because us students are not very educated on the war and there will probably be more wars and different memorial days to come so Remembrance day will probably fade out.

  16. Remembrance day is a day for us to take a moment to realize what the veterans do for us. We might not be in a free country if it wasn't for them. The veterans fought for people they didn't even know, people they did, and people who weren't even born yet. The nurses, the weapon makers, the soldiers, the navy and even the factory workers deserve the utmost respect from anyone considering what they went through. We will never forget them and hopefully the future generations won't either.

    1. I didnt think about that. I never thought about how they risked themselves for people they didn't even know

  17. Remembrance day is a time to remember and reflect on the people who have sacrificed them selves for the quality of life we have in our country and veterans who are still alive today. Some of my family have been killed during the Holocaust in World War Two because of they were Jewish. I think it is very important to remember the sacrifices that were made in war so that we know how that Canada wasn't always a free democratic country. I think it is possible that in 50 years from know there will be less Remembrance Day celebrations because the two world wars will seem like it happened a long time ago and there are all ready not very many survivors of the second world war so the stories will seem less connected to the younger people in 50 years. Hopefully that doesn't happen though.

  18. Remembrance day is there to remind us of all the sacrifices brave soldiers made to protect our country and make Canada what it is today, it's absolutely insane to think that if not for a brave veteran that sacrificed his/her life for us, some of us wouldn't even be here today. Remembrance day probably has less meaning to me than others as nobody in my bloodline (that i know of) participated in ww2. I feel that remembrance day should be celebrated always not just to honor the veterans of the past, but also the soldiers of the future and who are currently serving.

  19. The purpose of remembrance day is to remember and thank all the people that died in the wars, trying to protect future generations. To me, remembrance day is very important because lots of people died fighting in that war and lots of regular people like us died for no reason and we have to remember them. I think remembrance day will always be celebrated because it doesn't matter how many years passed we still need to remember the past so we can fix our mistakes and remember the people who made our lives easier.

  20. Remembrance day is a very important day. We remember and thank everyone who fought for us and our country. I think it’s super important to remember everyone who did those things for us because we wouldn't be here without them. The veterans made incredible sacrifices and risked their lives to protect our country. I really hope that it is still celebrated later on in life because it’s such an important holiday to families who might have gone through that or know someone who might.

  21. I think Remembrance Day is important because it's the day that we remember the soldiers that fought in the war. Remembrance day is important for me because 2 of my great grandparents were in the war. I think that the sacrifices made during war are important, because a lot of people lost their life just so we could live in the free world we have today. I definitely hope that in 50 years we still celebrate this day because I think it's a very important topic to discuss.

To me remembrance day is really important to me because without them we would not have all we have to this day and its one day out of the year to pay thanks it's not that hard. I rly hope this will still be a thing in 50 years.
