Are you ready for online learning?
What was your experience with online learning last year?
What did you like about it?
What did you dislike about it?
Are you happy you decided to come back to school versus doing online learning this year?
Explain.

I think I'm ready for online learning because it'll only be for about a week and a half in total. Last year, I definitely did not pay attention because I was on my phone or watching tv and sometimes I didn't show up because I wanted to sleep, but this year they're going to be more strict about it so. I liked that I couldn't get into as much trouble as in if I was on my phone they can't take it and if they kick me off I can just text my friends and ask about the homework. I don't like that they're probably going to make us show our faces because I'm too lazy to get ready. I'm happy that I get to see my friends this year but, it's caused more cases and I dont like leaving my house for 6 hours, I much rather stay in bed.
ReplyDeleteI agree, it would be so much easier to stay in bed. Good blog
DeleteTo be honest I liked online classes cause I find it was less stressful but also at the same time I was struggling in different courses and it was harder to find help with my marks. Also I find it harder to learn because I would get so distracted to easily. I hate to say it but I worked better at school but that comes with stress. I prefer school because I learn more but also I like the idea of online.
ReplyDeleteI really agree because on online school we can literally have our phone right beside us, Great blog!
DeleteI also thought online school was less stressful. Good blog!
DeleteI agree that with online school, it's easier to get distracted, great blog!
DeleteI think that I am ready for online learning. Last year it was really fun to be able to sit in my room and not have to worry about sitting on an uncomfortable chair for 8 hours a day. The only thing that is harder about not being at school is that it is harder to be able to ask questions to your teacher, but that will get easier the longer that we do online school. Honestly I would've preferred to stay in online school rather then coming back to school.
ReplyDeleteI agree with asking your teachers question its so much harder . Good opinion
DeleteLast year I did online learning on my bed and I wasn't the most prepared. This year I am a lot more prepared and will doing it at my desk. Last year I virtually learnt nothing hopefully this year the teachers are able to further help us understand. Even though it might be hard for them too. I also don't like it too much because I socialize a lot better in real life then texting or facetiming with my friends. Like I think last year during the virus I barely talked to any of my friends. So yes as much as lazy I am , I still prefer real life because I guess its just an environment I learn better in. Lets just hope that this year its better.

DeleteI really don't believe anyone learnt anything from last year's online classes because for one it was optional and two it was so close to break. I also agree that it's hard to socialize online in real life because it's not real interaction.
I didn't learn much last year and I definitely prefer physical school! Good blog
DeleteYeah we learned nothing last year.
DeleteI don't enjoy online school, I just don't enjoy school in general. I was so sick half of the time during the online school because of the mornings and the wake up calls. I enjoyed the time when I was writing notes and dozing off half the time but I still paid attention. I didn't enjoy the time in English class where our teacher made us do two essays with groups, I had to do most of the work so that wasn't fun. Honestly, I didn't mind the back to school, sure it's bad, but it's not as bad as online school, my house is somewhat chaotic and my parents don't trust me so i can't stay in my bedroom with my phone near.
ReplyDeletesame for me! my house is so chaotic, it was also really hard for me to concentrate at some points :))
DeleteI think that the online learning this year is different because its for the full day and not just a bit in the morning. I didn't pay much attention during the spring. Also when me and both my brothers where in classes, we could have wifi problems. I liked not having to wake up early take the bus and train for 45 minutes each way to get to my old school. I didn't like trying to be on the zoom call and do online work on my cell phone because I didn't have a computer. I didn't have a choice between staying home and going to school because my parents have to go to work. I wouldn't mind staying at home for school. I could sleep more in the morning.
ReplyDeleteI agree that there is going to be a big difference between the full day and not just a bit in the morning! Great job on your blog!
DeleteI think I'm pretty ready for online school I also like online school. Whats not to like about it I love sleeping in a little longer. Classes also aren't even that long. Online school can be hard because you can't really communicate to your teachers well. It's hard especially when you need to ask a question. You also are staring at a screen a lot. Overall I do like in school because we can talk to one another in person rather than on a screen. I also like online because its more of a break. Although that was last year. It might be different.
ReplyDeleteSame I was extra excited about the fact that I could sleep in a little more. Great blog!
DeleteI think I’d be ready for online school because it won’t be for long. Last year for online school, I got really easily distracted because of the screens we’re always in front of. But I didn’t love it because I hated to wake up early and get ready. And it was a bit hard for me because sometimes I wouldn’t do the work that was assigned to me because it was always not mandatory so I never usually did it. But I’m partially happy that we came back to school because I really missed hanging out with my friends all the time in class, during lunch and roaming around the halls. But for sure I prefer going to school instead of online because I pay more attention in class/listen better in person.
ReplyDeleteHopefully we won’t have to do online for long. It was definitely not one of my favourite things. It was harder to understand what was being taught because the teacher wasn’t physically there to help you and sometimes the internet connection was bad so the zoom would glitch and I’d miss what the teacher would say. The only thing I liked was I got to sleep in a little bit more and also could stay in my pjs.
ReplyDeleteAt first I was not happy about returning to school and the first 2 weeks were rough but now that I think back I’m happy I did decide to come back.
I agree I hope it won't be for long!
DeleteI think I have been ready for online school since the first day of school. I really liked the serenity last year of staying at home because I'm an independent person and worker, and that’s all we were doing last year (was being independent workers). It was an okay experience, but sometimes the technology was confusing (for the teachers and students). What I dislike about being online is that sometimes you can feel unmotivated because you’re not in the right work setting. In conclusion I would easily choose to go online versus being at school because I hate being at school.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty ready to go online I like the idea of just waking up and you can just go to school but on the other hand even a person who is more of an introvert then an extrovert like me still has to socialize its I guess you can say a human need and so I'm going to miss that aspect of going to physical school. Last year when we went online after a couple of days I felt disorganized and always had that stress of oh you forgot to do one of your assignments and the teacher will be very upset. I am glad that I went to physical school rather than going online because it was nice to visit the St.Thomas school which will probably be the last year to do that and secondly to just have other human interaction.
ReplyDeleteI think i'm ready for online school because I've been expecting it for awhile. Last year, the online courses weren't that bad. I still didn't like that i didn't get to see any of my friends for months which was really bad for me and it wasn't healthy. The only thing I liked about online classes was that I didn't have to wake up early, get dress and go to school to sit in boring classes. And I liked that I could eat food when ever I wanted without the teacher telling me off for it. What I disliked was I could only see my friends on a computer in class, but even the, everyone had there camera off. It was also really boring because all you do is hear the teacher talk and theirs nothing to look forward to. Yes I am happy to choose physical school VS online school and I'm very happy I get to see all my friends at school. Even if they are in different classes and I have to sneak around to see them....
ReplyDeleteI don't like online school because I find it super difficult to learn for me in that way for some reason. Im glad we won't have to go to school physically for a while. I didn't enjoy it at all last year so let's hope this time will be different. I think the week online will help me learn a bit better online, and I hope my classmates will, be okay. We get a week of quarantine after the break and that sounds nice.
ReplyDeleteAgree I don't like online school either.
DeleteGreat blog!
I'm ready for online school but I'm not very excited because I find it very stressful and not very efficient. For example, last year, my math teacher didn't let me into the class therefore I didn't go to math class. But at the same time, you can just put on a shirt and wear pyjama pants and it's very comfortable. And we can go on our phones if we want.
ReplyDeleteI think online school is going to be pretty good. Even though last year we barely learned anything, I think this year we might be able to do something instead of review because we are prepared. I think that it would have been much better to just use online school from the beginning since it's safer and less risky since covid is around.
ReplyDeleteDo you think they'll ever make us go back in january or will it be online until COVID is gone
DeleteTo be honest I don’t really remember last year’s online classes that well the whole summer just seems like a big blur. I do remember not liking it at all though. I remember it being really hard to get back into doing my homework after all that time with nothing. I think that online teaching will be better than school in person because I don’t have to wake up as early and all my stuff is a home with me, but if you’re having a bad day and you don’t want to go to school there really isn’t any reason you can give because it's not like you can get someone sick through zoom.
ReplyDeleteOnline school was very different from regular school and last year when I first did online school it was a very interesting experience. During online school I would always get distracted because I’m in my house/room and well anything is more interesting than learning through a screen. Even though it was hard to learn it was very nice that I got to be in the comfort of my own home while doing school. One thing I really disliked about online school was that I couldn’t see anyone in person. I think that socializing with others, even just seeing another person that isn’t part of the people you see everyday is very important for your health. I’m very happy that I chose to come to school this year and not stay online. Coming to school is part of a routine that I have followed almost everyday for the past 8-9 years. As well I get to see other people and talk to my friends.
ReplyDeleteLast year, online school was a lot different from normal school and it was something that I really wasn't used to. I liked how online school wasn't as stressful as actually being in school, but sometimes, things wouldn't work properly and it was hard to understand what was going on. I personally prefer online school because I don't like being in big groups of people, which is hard in school and I would just prefer to talk to people over the phone rather than in person. Although I don't like big groups of people, I find that I work better in school and I can pay attention better in a classroom.
ReplyDeleteI also had a lot of trouble paying attention last year on the zooms, sometimes there were like 3-4 classes on at once and it was so confusing.
DeleteI hated online learning last year because the teachers put us on the spot and made it uncomfortable. After like two weeks I just stopped paying attention because they were expecting us to be ready for all the work and to understand it even though we didn't do anything for like three months. I am really happy that grade 8 isn't online because the only good part about school is socializing and being with your friends.
