Welcome to 2021!
The government has been slowly rolling out the COVID vaccine (YAY!)
If you were in charge, who would you vaccinate first? Second? Third?
Should teachers and students be on the priority list to get vaccinated?
What about the homeless? When should they be vaccinated?
Explain.

If i decided who could the vaccines go out to first I feel that the hospital workers deserve it for all their hard work but then teachers and students and essential workers because they don't have the option to stay home or not. Then the public should definitely receive it as fast as possible. Homeless people should also be able to receive the vaccine without any trouble because it is to protect everyone. I really hope everyone can access it and everyone can stay safe.
ReplyDeleteI hope so too. Great blog!
DeleteHealth care workers should definitely be top priority for the vaccine because they're always at risk. Great blog!

DeleteThat is true teachers and people who work at grocery stores don't have a choice to go online and they see so many people every day
DeleteI definetly agree that health care workers should be priority, great blog!!
DeleteI completely agree that healthcare workers should be the first to get vaccinated. Great blog.
DeleteI think that people that work in grocerie stores, people over 60 and people in elderly homes (including the workers) should be vaccinated first. The reason i think they should be vaccinated first is the people that work at the grocerie store are always close to people and they touch our food. I think that the people over 60 and people in elderly homes (including the workers) shoul also be vaccinated first because they're the most at risk of getting covid. I think second it should be doctors/first responders, third adults (25-59) and then students.
ReplyDeleteI really liked your blog, you made some great points!
DeleteFirst I would vaccinate medical workers considering they are at the most risk but also the elders considering they are the ones who take up the most respirators in our hospitals. Second I would vaccinate students because regardless of the warnings and rules, there are kids who don’t wear their mask, etc which causes greater risk of virus transmission. Lastly I would vaccinate parents and young adults. We shouldn’t be top priority but it should strongly be advised that we do get vaccinated. Schools should send home letters regularly advising parents to get their kids vaccinated. The homeless should be vaccinated because they still are people at risk and they deserve to have a chance at outliving this pandemic.
ReplyDeleteThat is very true the elders do take up most respirators. Great blog!
DeleteYou make a really good point about how students ad teachers should be a priority. Good blog!!
DeleteI would first vaccinate all of the hospital workers since they are working directly with people who have covid. I would then vaccinate all the elderly. I would precede to vaccinate everyone else including the homeless, people who work and students. The homeless should be vaccinated regardless if the have a home or not. They are still people who have lives and they can get sick.
ReplyDeleteGreat blog, Agreed the homeless should be more taken care during covid.
DeleteAgreed that the hospital workers are a priority! Good blog.
DeleteI think that the priority workers like doctors, nurses anyone who works in the specific medical area that is related to COVID-19. I think that teachers and students should be like fourth or fifth in the rank. We can wait just a little since online school is a thing we can try to cope with. The second should be the polices, the firemans, and anyone else who works in medical or trying to run our country (i'm not saying all the important people, some of them) The third should be the elderly and the newborns. They should have some type of priority since the elderly have been struggling because of this pandemic. Then comes the students and the teachers, we can probably cope with the online school or actual school for now :) Then comes the homeless and the rest of the workers population. Each individual has a life and something to look up, people can have priorities but the important thing is that people get vaccinated.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that doctors and nurses should be priority.
DeleteIf I was in charge I would vaccinate hospital and nursing home staff first, then the elderly and people at risk, and the teacher, then students, then parents. I think that teachers and students definitely need the vaccine, but they shouldn’t be a priority. I think the hospital and nursing home staff should get vaccinated first because they need to be able to help everyone else and how are they going to give the vaccine if they have COVID. I don’t know the statistics for homeless people with COVID, but maybe they should go to the homeless shelters and give them the vaccine there.
ReplyDeleteI think that healthcare workers are definitely top priority because they are in contact with so many people everyday to help so they should get the vaccines first. Second, I think that it should be the homeless people so that they have a lower chance of getting covid because they probably don’t have the money to pay for treatment. Third, I think that it should be students and teachers because students don’t really social distance so it would be important for them and the teachers come in contact with the kids that don’t social distance.
ReplyDeleteI think the healthcare workers should get the vaccine first since they have to be in contact and be near the coronavirus patients. Second I would say to give the vaccine to people in grocery stores or essential stores because they have a chance of catching the virus. Students and teachers should have a decent priority, probably the teachers first. Homeless people should 100% get the vaccine if we have enough for everyone.
ReplyDeleteI really agree too that homeless people should have that opportunity too,
DeleteI agree health care workers are top priority, and homeless people definitely should have the opportunity to get it too.
DeleteI think like a lot of others that "priority workers" should be the ones to get vaccinated first so like people who work with the covids or doctors, food people, etc. I am not sure about schools but I do know that education is important so I would probably put it after the priority workers because the kids are the future and the teachers are the ones who teach the future generation. I think also that homeless should be vaccinated at the same time as the other people restaurants, movies ,etc...
ReplyDeleteI feel like people who are immune compromised and seniors should go first since they are more at risk because of the virus. Essential workers like nurses and cashiers should also be a priority when it comes to the vaccine due to them constantly risking their lives just to help us. Second I'd put children, because even though they aren't really in danger because of the virus, they can spread it easily, and not all of them can grasp the concept of the pandemic. Last I'd put adults, they seem to be (arguably due to stupid people who don't wear their masks or social distance) the most responsible when it comes to the pandemic. The homeless should be vaccinated second, because I feel like the immune compromised and the essential workers deserve the vaccine first if that makes any sense.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the order you woud vaccinate the population. Great blog!
DeleteIf I were in charge of organizing who got the vaccine first and last I would prioritize all people in hospitals including the workers. Then I would suggest vaccinating the homeless because it’s not like they have much to protect themselves unlike us students and teachers. After the homeless I would suggest vaccinating students, teachers and all people that work in schools. Lastly I would vaccinate the rest of the population till everyone who wants has been vaccinated.
ReplyDeleteI think healthcare workers should be vaccinated first ,i think seniors should be vaccinated second and I think people that have health problems should be vaccinated third.I think teachers should have some priority and students shouldn't be the top concern because kids have less chance of contracting the virus and they're health is better.I think homeless should definitely still get vaccinated at because they are still at risk of the virus.
ReplyDeleteI agree, the seniors should be at the top of the list to be vaccinated! Great blog!
DeleteHealth care workers should definitely be vaccinated first as well as seniors, Great blog.
DeleteIf I were in charge of giving out the vaccine to people I would put the essential workers and people older than 65 first in line to get the vaccine. Especially the people in the hospitals and in medical clinics, they need to be well protected. And then I would probably put the homeless next, they don't have really anything to protect them. Then, I would go to students and teachers, we are pretty well protected and we are doing everything we can to stay safe in school. Then finally, I would vaccinate everyone else.
ReplyDeleteFirst I would vaccinate people of any age who have any health problems that make them at extremely high risk if they get corona. Second I would vaccinate the elderly. And third I would vaccinate the homeless and then everyone else. I would do this order because even though the elderly are at high risk too those with crucial health problems will most likely need to go see doctors and go to hospitals more often. I think the homeless should go third because they are at high risk from maybe not being able to afford masks and living in shelters with lots and lots of people.
ReplyDeleteI agree that the homeless should go relatively early to get vaccinated when the vaccine comes out because as you said they probably can't afford masks and with not only living in shelters which have lots of people like you said but when your homeless you're trying to find food for survival so they end up eating things terrible for them and could get sick from that so if there immune system is already fighting something getting Covid-19 would be terrible.
DeleteThe first person/ category of people that I would take to have the vaccine would be the nurses/doctors who treat with Covid-19, the second would be the school educators and the third would be grocery/ retail store workers. Definitely should teachers and students be vaccinated because we need teachers to educate students and then those students will be the future generations of the world. The homeless should definitely be one of the first people to be vaccinated and probably would be the second to be vaccinated when and if a vaccine comes out.
ReplyDeleteI think that health care workers should be vaccinated first because they are the ones who are most likely to get sick because they are in contact with people who have the virus. If health care workers keep getting sick, then eventually there will be no one to take care of the hospitals. I think that teachers should have priority over the students because they are also in contact with more people as well as students are younger, so there's a lower chance of them getting sick. The homeless should definitely be vaccinated because they have the least protection.
ReplyDeleteyes, its so true since the homeless don't have much, they do have the least protection against Covid-19. I definitely agree with all of your points, good job :))
DeleteThe first people who should get vaccinated is healthcare workers. This should happen because if they get sick, there are less hands on deck to be able to help people who are dying, and if there not there to help, more people are going to die. The next people who should be vaccinated are high risk people, and they should be ranged by how lethal it could be. Obviously old people with health conditions should be first in the high risk range, and it should go down from there. I don't think it's as necessary for students and teachers with no health conditions, because people can die. Once people who could die are vaccinated though, it should be students then teachers, there is more students then teachers and it is going to take a little bit more.
ReplyDeleteIf I was in charge, I would definitely vaccinate hospital workers first, since they are near a lot of people who have the virus to help them, so it would be essential for them to be vaccinated. Next, I would vaccinate people who are high risk so that they are safer and less people will die from the virus. I would also make sure that people who still work in pharmacies and grocery stores also get vaccinated early because those are places that still stay open even when we are staying home. I do think that teachers and students should get vaccinated so that we can go back to school. Homeless people should be vaccinated because they don't have all the necessary things to protect themselves from the virus, and since they have so little, it could really help them.
ReplyDeleteI think that it is a great thing that we now have a vaccine so that hopefully soon enough things will go back to somewhat normal. I am very much so ready for Corona to be over. I think that the first to get the vaccine should definitely be the front line workers like health care workers and also casier etc… i think the next should be the elderly because they are at a much higher risk of getting the coronavirus and not surviving then i think that teachers and students should get it because school have so many people it like a feeding ground for corona it can spread easily
ReplyDeleteI think that the front-line workers such as doctors, nurses ( any workers in the medical area/hospitals or medical walk-ins ) and also grocery store workers/employees should have first priority when it comes to the Covid-19 vaccine. Second should be the elderly because they have a much higher risk of getting Covid-19, and more at risk of dying after getting it. Then I think it should be the homeless, and then teachers and THEN the students because teachers should have priority over us students because students are younger and for us its less of a chance of getting REALLY sick and of not getting Covid-19 at all. The homeless should definitely be able to get vaccinated because they have more of a chance of getting covid since they aren't well protected enough to stay safe from catching it, it could really do good for them if they get vaccinated.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with your list. Great blog :))
DeleteI think that the front-line workers should be first to get the vaccine as they are always around people that do or could possibly have covid. The people that have jobs in public places should also be some of the first because they are around people every single day. Next should be elders because they have much bigger chance of getting the virus. Teachers should for sure be next because they are working with a bunch of different kids on the daily. I also think to homeless should get testes because we don't want them suffering with no where to go.
