What is gender equality and why is it important?
Why does gender equality matter and how can we continue to make progress?
How should men and boys help eliminate gender inequality?
Explain.
Gender equality is men, women and anything in between having the same rights as one another. It's important because other genders, particulary women, get mistreated a lot more often then men. I defenitally feel there's been a bit of progress, but not enough. There are still so many women that are being treated terribly. I think that boys can stop being sexist, stop cat-calling women, stop r*ping them and stop treated them like they're just objects. I also think that teachers shouldn't be teaching girls to "cover up" and they should be teaching boys to keep it in their pants and stop sexualizing girls for literally having their shoulders showing.

DeleteGender Equality is very important in my life. It's very important in general, how women get payed or treated differently of payed differently but also men have a standard that society brings on them just as women do to. Gender Equality is still in progress but it has developed in good ways over the years but there are more improvements like how some women are expected less of because their gender is looked at as weaker then the male gender which isn't true whatsoever. We are making progress but there are still women everyday getting treated like just a house Mom, just being able to take care of the kids and clean and cook. Many fail to realise that the female and male gender are equal in different ways it depends on the persons abilities. The male gender, some people of the male gender help the progression of women and Equality between genders but some still need to develop from old ways.
ReplyDeleteso true. women are always being stereotyped based on all of the things that happened over the years a while ago and many people back then expected more from the men than the women which is unfair and a lie which they don't even realize, good blog :)
DeleteThe term gender equality states that access to rights are unaffected by the gender of a person. As the definition says this is important so everyone has the same opportunities and they are not diminished just because of their gender. An idea to maybe get some progress is to have a mentality that women are not always going to be the one at home taking care of the children and that dads aren't the ones who will always be working. With this mentality or even trying to think of it as being a normal thing that things can be different can probably change a lot.

DeleteGender equality means people of all genders who all have equal rights and opportunities and that they aren't different because of what gender you are. There is some progress in gender equality right now, but not enough to make everything how it should be. It has been progressing and developing every year. This is very important because women are always getting stereotyped because of how things used to be, and still now, women get treated very unfairly and badly and still many women are expected of certain things like of how it used to be when women did all of the cooking and cleaning and things like that while the men worked and many people don't realize is that all genders are equal and should be treated all the same.

DeleteGender equality means that your rights and opportunities are the same no matter what gender you are. There has been a lot of progress in the recent years to be more equal, however I feel that more should be done. An idea to maybe continue progress is to break down stereotypes, an example being not using the stereotype that boys play with x group of toys and girls play with y group of toys. Breaking stereotypes is a little step, however is a good first step, in my opinion

DeleteGender equality protects women and girls from abuse. It is essential for economic growth. Women and men should be valued equally in societies. Equality between men and women is a fundamental human right and is very important to me. Gender equality is essential for all aspects of a healthy society, from poverty reduction to the promotion of girls' and boys' health, education, security, and well-being. I think we can continue to make progress with gender equality by identifying and preventing unconscious bias and by being more aware of the subject. Men and boys should help eliminate gender inequality by being more respectful and well mannered towards women.

DeleteGender equality is a fundamental HUMAN right. It's a necessary foundation to a peaceful world. Every single day in history, somewhere in the world, gender inequality was happening. When we realized gender inequality was a problem, this world has been trying their best to shut down the idea of one gender is better than the other. It's actually the 5th goal of the united nations development goals. A way we can eliminate gender inequality making discriminatory laws and socials norms targeting gender inequality and make em disappear >:)

DeleteGender equality is when men and women have the same amount of rights. If one gender can do something, the other should be allowed too (except for a few things). It is pretty important because men and women are different but similar in different ways. However, sometimes a gender might thing the opposite gender is inferior to them which is not good. This can cause rumor's and stereotypes. You might think "big deal" but this can start very bad things. It can stop certain people from getting jobs that they certainly do well in. They might not be able to do normal activities in our every day life like driving a car. It is really stupid because both genders can probably do the same things just fine. Through time, women were seen as the interior gender. But things are changing...slowly. Things are starting to pick up the pace though. Some women are very accomplished and have done things maybe a men couldn't have done. Recently, Kamala Harris became the vice president and that's something pretty big. So we can keep pushing for more gender equality by having more jobs open for women and giving women the same rights everyone should have. We boys should help eliminate gender equality by allowing girls and women to what we can do. Like some places there are jobs only men can do. Well, we should let the women do it too.

Gender equality prevents violence against women and girls. It’s essential for economic prosperity. Societies that value women and men as equal are safer and healthier. Gender equality is a human right. Everyone benefits from gender equality. I think one way to eliminate gender inequality is by confronting gender stereotyping by the popular and news media.
ReplyDeleteGender equality prevents violence or unfairness against women, girls, men boys. All genders should have equal rights because everyone would be able to get fair opportunities and responsibilites. Women and girls can now have a fair and equal education and employment, etc. Societies that value women and men as equal are safer and healthier, there is less violence and less inequality. I think men and boys can treat girls with respect and mannered.

DeleteEquality in general is when everyone is treated the same no matter their race, language they speak or gender they identify as. Equality is important because when you treat someone a different way because of who they are you are making them feel like they are less important than you. Everyone is important and no one should ever make you feel like you are not. Gender equality matters because it’s a sign that we humans are overcoming our past mistakes. In the past men were always on top and they felt like women couldn't do anything. Now in the present and hopefully the future we will make an effort to include everyone and not a single group of people of a certain gender. I think anyone no matter what gender you are should help abolish gender inequality because everyone deserves to be acknowledged and treated the same.
ReplyDeleteGender equality is important because it means to be treated the same no matter what gender you are. I've been made fun of and pushed away just for being a girl, which isn't cool. We should all be treated the same. Gender equality is about getting respect no matter what you identify as. Preventing certain groups from doing something others can do, or shaming other groups for the way they act, dress, look, etc is never appropriate.
ReplyDeleteGender equality is no matter whatever gender someone identifies with everyone has the same rights. I think gender equality is extremely important because in the past all anyone every really saw when they saw a person was their gender and ethnicity/race so even though we have made lots of improvement there is still improvement to be made. I think that it is extremely important not to see a gender but to see a person when hiring them or just having a conversation with them. No matter the gender everyone should be treated with the same respect.

DeleteGender equality is when all genders have reached a point where no matter what gender you are there is no advantage or disadvantage for you that the other gender does not have. It is important because of the fact that you should not be punished or have a harder life just because a 50/50 coinflip decided you where a specific gender. It is important because we should not have to ruin half of the population's chances of doing things because of their gender. Gender equality is getting better but we still have issues that must be resolved, for example girls can't wear what they want because guys oversexualize everything and some guys have been told that they can't show their emotions and they need to man up if they cry. Everyone needs to help for gender equality, if something seems sexist you need to point it out, because that is the only way to make progress is if we all work together to achieve a goal.

Delete\Gender equality is when both genders are completely the same rights and there is no bonus for being either of those genders. It is extremely important to have women as people with rights too and yet right from the start of your life you already have a bias upon you just because of your gender that person could grow to become great academics or personality wise or leadership and many more. We can help make progress by making the protest global that women have lives too, in many 3rd world countries women are seen as 2nd class citizens for no reason. Men and boys can help eliminate gender inequality by joining with women in the protest for equality.

DeleteGender equality is when no matter what gender you are everyone is equal. Gender equality is really important because for so long women couldn't do thing men do and it's the same for men. I think men and boys could help eliminate gender inequality by not commenting on women's body. People can help eliminate it by also not telling women how to dress and to cover up their shoulders or their nee caps. Instead they should teach guys how to act.

DeleteGender equality is important so that everyone, no matter their gender, can have the exact same rights and opportunities that the opposite gender has. How you are treated and what rights you get should not be able to be made at a time that you don't have any comprehension of anything at all. It's important because everyone deserves the same start, what you choose to do with your life (ie: committing a crime and going to prison) is all up to you. I think that men and boys could help by being apart of the conversation and try to help women and girls keep working to be able to get rights and opportunities to get much closer than they are.

I think that it is important because a lot of people are discriminated against because of their gender and it isn’t fair they are people too and they deserve to be happy. I think a good way to continue to make progress would be to keep making more diverse characters in shows and tv sand to remind ourselves before we discriminate, that we are all human beings and we have to look out for each other. I think that men also should not be excluded from helping because some people are nice and some are mean and it does not matter that men were mean in the past because these people are different people and they are realizing what is right.

I think gender inequality is when, just because of someone's gender, they don't get treated respectfully or don't get the same opportunities as others. I think gender equality has gotten a lot better over the years, but there is always room for improvement. I think men and boys can help with gender inequality if we teach the new generation of boys that women are strong and we can do anything we put our minds to.

I think it's important because still to this day specifically women get treated worse and have less opportunities than men it needs to change. I think we already have started making progress but not enough we can start by giving more higher job opportunities and get paid more and we have to stop sexualizing girls and women For what they were

DeleteGender equality is being treated the same, male or female. Everyone should be treated the same and given the same respect. I think gender equality is very important because still to this day women are being treated worse and paid less then men for doing the same exact job. But not only your gender but also your race. Over the years, we have defintley made progress with this issue but to improve I think that everyone should be better educated about this subject and start teaching young kids better.
