Many people say that MONTREAL is the greatest city in Canada and the WORLD!

Have you ever taken a tour of MONTREAL? Do you have a favourite spot?

What are some of the BEST places to visit in MONTREAL? Places to EAT?

(If you have never been on a tour of the city, why is it important to get to know your city?).

Explain.

  1. I’ve never taken a tour of Montreal but I have been seen many parts of it myself. I don’t particularly have a favourite spot but I do like the Point-Claire village and sitting near the water. I’d say if you where to visit Montreal, you’d have to stop by Jukebox Burgers and have one of their famous milkshakes. Even if it’s not for long, the experience and atmosphere are worth it. I guess it would be beneficial to know your city if you ever had someone from out of town come visit you, you could show them all the best spots and restaurants to stop at and save them the money from spending it on a tour.

    1. I agree it would be beneficial to know your city to show people from out of town and even your friends all the best spots in Montreal.

  2. I have gone sightseeing around Montreal with my family but I haven’t necessarily taken a tour. I live in Baie D’urfe and it’s fun to go biking to St Annes to get food and sit by the water. For a while, I have really wanted to go to La Ronde and go on the fun and wild rides but I haven’t had the opportunity due to Covid. In Ontario the buses and trains weren’t frequently used unlike Montreal, so I’m still getting used to using them. I think it’s important to get to know your city just in case you are lost and your phone is dead, you have to know how to navigate your way through the city.

  3. I personally think that Montreal is NOT the best city at all but it does have some fun spots. I've never taken a tour of Montreal before but my favourite spot is probably the main city. The best place to eat is probably Del Frisco in my opinion because that's my favourite restaurant.

  4. I love the city, but I've never taken a tour. I don't feel like it would be fulfilling since I go there all the time. I've been to La Ronde. My favourite spot is Place DesJardins. It has a mall, cool setups, food like dairy queen and LaFleurs, and the jazz fest is there every year. I live in Beaconsfield, right next to Pointe Claire village. It takes about 30 minutes to get to the city, which is really my favourite place. The best place to eat is Le Banquise. It has the best poutine ever.

    1. DesJardins seems like a good place to go after the pandemic.

  5. I love Montreal, it is a very nice city. My dad has lived all over Montreal so he's like our own personal guide around espicially downtown. My dad and his friends when hungry used to go get fries from the fritory in down town according to my dad and his friends its the best fries in montreal and after trying it I can't disagree. My personal favorite place in montreal is the look over view in west mount of the whole city I find it so cool but also I love visiting around downtown and exploring. Montreal is actually very nice I would of loved to experience it as a tourist one day.

  6. I love Montreal. My favourite place in Montreal is definitely downtown. Sometimes I even ask my parents just to go for a drive downtown at night because I love the lights and the city atmosphere. I also love going down by the lake. It’s so relaxing and kind of therapeutic to be by the water. Honestly any kind of old and very provincial little restaurant or fast food place that sells poutine is normally a great place to go for tourists but also pretty much anyone. Another really fun place to go to is Mount Royal. I used to go a lot with my aunt and we would walk the trails and the lookout is just so beautiful. I think getting to know your city is really great because it could help you decide where you want to possibly live and it’s also good to explore a little.

  7. I have never taken a tour of Montreal, but I have seen certain parts of it. But one of my spots of Montreal, is when I go downtown, I go to a street called Rue Ste. Catherine which has my favourite boba shop called The Alley. That is definitely a must-go-to when you come here. And Rue Ste. Catherine has a bunch of great food options as well, but when you go downtown, a must-eat is at the Orange Julep which basically just looks like a humongous orange, has the best poutine in my opinion, it's really good there I love it. I think it is important to get to know your city just in case you ever get lost or something, you'll be able to know your place around here. Or also if you have someone visiting Montreal, instead of really taking a tour, you can just show them your favourite spots of Montreal.

  8. I like Montreal. It's a really great place. I haven't really taken a tour of all of Montreal, but my family likes to go out so I think I've seen the major parts of Montreal. There is so many things to do. It has so much culture, history and just so many things to see. My favorite place is downtown. It's always bustling with activity, especially during festivals. Montreal has lots of festivals but my favorite is the Just for Laughs. Because of Covid, it did not happen so kind of a bummer. La Ronde is also something you HAVE to go to. It has the best rides ever. Not to mention the firework how. One of my favorite places is the museums near the Big O. The Insectarium, Botanical Garden, Biodome and the Planetarium. The museums are so unique. There are so many things to see there. For restaurants, I haven't been to many to a lot of different restaurants because of my allergies. Some restaurants I have been going to since I was 3 was Marathons and a soup and noodle place in Chinatown. My family mostly went there because of the value, but the food is SO good. It's amazing. We still go there today. I think you should get to know your city. You live in the city, why not explore it? Who knows, you might find something you really enjoy about the city.

  10. Yes, I have been on a tour of Montreal. I have been on two. One walking tour and another one, a ghost tour. They basically tell you all the haunted places there is to see and why they are haunted. My mom and I have also been a scavenger hunt around the Old Port all the way to Molson Stadium. We had to look for different spots and take pictures of specific things/landmarks to lead us there. I don't I really have a favourite spot in Montreal, maybe LaRonde, I love roller coasters and I also would really recommend going if you like roller coasters too. Not mention the Fright Fest, I went last year with one of my friends, but we didn't end up going in the haunted house, I want to go in there one day. One of the best places to go to in Montreal is the Old Port. They have activities open all year round. Some places to eat include Monza (pointe-claire), Violet Angel (St.Annes), Klondike (St.Annes), Rockaberry (pointe-claire), Sahib (pointe-claire), 3 brasseurs (Old Port), Baton Rouge (Decarie) and LaFleurs (pointe-claire). LaFleurs poutine is the best.

  11. I've taken 6-7 tours with my relatives visiting Canada before, it's kinda repetitive but the view of the city is pretty relaxing. My favorite spot in the city the giant ferris wheel in Montreal, i've been on there 5 times and the view is quite scarily peaceful. I'm not a big fan of Downtown, so I tend to stay in the suburbs more often. I rarely eat out anymore since it's the pandemic and I usually eat big chains (McDonald's, Thai Express) if I had to recommend local places in Montreal, rockaberry and wild willy's ice cream is on my list, there's also multiple pho places that my mom would order which I would not name since it's closed down indefinitely. In conclusion, just google "Best Restaurants in Montreal" since i'm not the best person to recommend, i've only lived here for like 3 years so...

  12. I have never taken a tour of Montreal but I sure do love it here, even though it gets pretty chilly. I have a lot of favourite places here one of which would be the overpass near my house. This place is special to me because my friends and I go on it and watch the sunset. It's very high up and windy and it's really cool when trains pass underneath it. Another one of my favourite places to visit is Pointe Claire village. It's so nice there and it's filled with fun little shops and has the one and only Wild Willy's! You can also sit by the water, it's so nice. There's a lot of places to eat in Montreal but of one my favourites would have to be Jack Astor's. I'd always go eat there for big family suppers and it's just so nice and fun inside. They also make some really good food, I love their chicken strips.

  13. I have never taken a tour of montreal but I have been downtown and it was really fun. I loved all the shops and places to eat and drink. My favourite stores are probably brandy or garage because they are like 10 times bigger than the one near me. I love the valley to get tea and starbucks of course ;)

  14. I have never taken a tour of Montreal, which now that I think about it I really should. Personally, I like big cities. I've always loved the way they are constantly moving and working really intrigues me. Also, I am up at all hours of the night, so I would like to be able to at least go and grab a bite to eat and 3 am if I so please. I think it's important to know the main places to your city, especially somewhere as big as Montreal, because there can be some areas that are more dangerous then others. The places you want to avoid, the places that are safe at night. That kinda thing. One of my favourite places to eat is Jukebox, because the burgers and milkshakes are both very good and they have really big portions which is always fun.

  15. I've never been on a tour of Montreal, and I don't really plan on ever going. I don't really get the point of going on a tour since you can just kind of look up pictures on the internet or something. Plus they are rather expensive and all they really are for is to go around taking pictures of a place. I like montreal but I don't think that it is the best city in the world.

  16. This blog is actually really hard for me considering as soon as I moved here a month later Covid-19 happened so I never really ever explored Montreal so of course I've never taken a tour of Montreal, maybe when I was younger because I used to live in Montreal when I was younger but probably not. I don't know any good place to eat in Montreal, the only thing I've had at a restaurant in Montreal is pizza and beaver tails which aren't even from Montreal. It's definitely important to know your city because you'll never be lost and also you know the area not to go to.

  17. I don't think I’ve ever actually taken a tour of Montreal but I’ve seen and been pretty much everywhere. I don’t have a favourite spot to go because everywhere is pretty nice. The parks are great and going to the mall is always enjoyable. Before the pandemic me and my family would always go to eat at Scarolies Pasta Emporium on Boul Saint-Jean in Pointe Claire and now during the pandemic we even ordered food from the restaurant. I think it’s very important to have a general knowledge of your city because you never know who you will meet one day. What if you meet someone and they are new to Montreal you could give them general information about the city, what to do and where to go.

  18. I have taken a tour of Montreal, When my cousins came to Canada for a visit we showed them Montreal. I really like the old port in Montreal it is a really nice place to go site seeing. The view is really pretty especially at night they also have a lot of restaurants and plenty of activities to do. There are plenty of good places to eat in Montreal some of my favourite restaurant include the breakfast once. I thinks its important to get to know your city because its where you live and where you spend most of you time and you should know your surroundings.

  19. I have never taken a tour of Montreal. I have however done a mystery challenge where we had to go all over the city so I guess I'm kinda familiar with the area. I think the best place to visit in the city is the Red Path Museum. It's a small museum and they don’t have that much stuff but I've been going there since I was young so it has sentimental value, also it's FREE! The best place to eat in Montreal is Triple Crown. It's a southern style of food and it looks like the old west in there. It's my favourite restaurant ever. Second would be Turkish Barbecue. I don’t actually know the name, that’s just what my family calls it. There is also this bakery called Guillaume that has these amazing muffin things that look like mushrooms. If you go there you have to get the white chocolate mushrooms. And obviously you have to go to old Montreal.

  20. I haven't actually taken a tour of montreal, and I'm not really too familiar with the place itself, since I don't actually live in or that close to montreal. However I can say that it is important to know our city so we can be familiar with our surroundings, and also be immersed in our culture, since our culture is the second most important thing to ourselves.
