There is a lot of talk about opening the borders for travel again.

However, in order to travel, travellers MUST have a COVID-passport.

The COVID-passport proves that travellers have been VACCINATED!

What are your thoughts about opening the borders again?

How do you feel about a COVID-passport?

Are you ready to start travelling?

Explain.

  1. I am kind of excited for the borders to open again. I feel like my life has been very dull and I haven’t been on a vacation in a very long time. I like the idea of a Covid-passport because I think everyone has the right to know that their safety is considered and that throughout their flight they are out of harm’s way. I was supposed to go to Barbados on March break and to England to visit family on Easter, but I couldn’t due to Covid. So I am so ready to start traveling again.

  2. I don’t think it’s a smart idea to open the borders again. I feel like opening borders is possibly a worse idea than opening gyms. We’ve come quite far with covid and I feel as though opening the borders is going to ruin all our progress. I don’t really know how I feel about the passports. This is the first time I’m hearing about so therefore I haven’t formed an opinion yet. I obviously do want to travel, however I can wait a little longer until COVID-19 isn’t as severe.

    1. I agree that we can wait a little longer until COVID-19 isn’t as severe. Great job on your blog!

    2. I agree I'm exited to start travelling but Covid needs to dial down before I do.

  3. I'm super excited for the borders to start opening again! I can finally travel woo!! Every two years, my family travels back to our home country to catch up businesses and politics or something that my parents have to do; I usually stay with my grandparents during the summers and I really miss them since last year, I was supposed to travel back. I just really need a vacation from Canada right now- A covid-passport seems like a good idea to me since getting vaccinated and being confirmed you're safe to be out of the border is reassuring although that's a lot paperwork-

    1. That's so nice that every two years you go back to your home country and see the rest of your family. Great blog!

  4. In my opinion don't think its a good idea to open up the borders again. I think it's to soon to open them up once again. The cases are starting to get really high and opening them up would just revert to a lock down again. Then there would be no travelling for an even longer time. I don't know how I feel about Covid-19 passports although I do think they will be mandatory to get into places in the future. I am exited to start travelling again but once Covid-19 is over and it's completely safe.

    1. I agree. It wouldn't be safe to cross the border right away.

    2. 100 percent agree. I think they should wait, great explanation.

  5. Honestly, I just want to go to Target again. I love US Target. It has everything, like weird Pringles flavours and great thingamajigs, and I haven't been in a year and a half. I'd only go to Target if they'd open the borders though, I'd wait until everyone had the vaccine to do other things, because people are stupid and would probably ruin the experience of Upstate New York if I dared go there before vaccination. A COVID-19 passport makes a lot of sense, and would be a good keepsake for the future when we are telling stories about this crazy time.

  6. I don’t think the borders should be opening up again. Even though it would be nice to travel and go places, there have been many new outbreaks of Covid-19. I know that the only people traveling outside the borders will have been vaccinated and have a covid passport proving so, but it will still be dangerous and a very possible cause for another lock down. I know that nobody wanted to be in this pandemic any longer and so by keeping the borders closed for a little while longer we are preventing this virus from spreading even more than it already has. As well I would love to travel again but only when this virus has been completely taken care of and people can do things safely without worrying about a virus.

    1. I agree, it's not worth risking another lockdown

  7. I don't think that the borders should be reopened. New strains of Covid-19 are reported almost weekly, and if we reopened borders, new strains could spread and mutate further. Even with a vaccine, you can still spread the virus, just because you're immune doesn't mean others are, so that negates the effectiveness of a Covid Passport. I'm not ready to start travelling again because covid still exists, and as long as it does I have no plans to travel.

  8. As much as I would absolutly love if the boarders opened because I could finally visit Matteo and I miss travelling, I dont think it's a very safe idea especially with the new variant. I think that the covid-passport is a really good idea because it proves that you don't have covid. I'm personally ready to start travelling and I miss it a lot and I miss going to new places and me and my friends have so many plans to go places this summer, if covid is finally gone.

  9. I don't think it would be the best idea to reopen borders, except for those cases of people that might have been "stuck" in a country because of covid. But for traveling and vacation I think it would be an unnecessary risk to take. A good example of traveling that. could be safe,( of course may not be enjoyable by everyone) would be to go places in the border of canada.

    1. Ya the only real reason to open the borders is for the people who have been stuck in a country because of Covid.

    2. yeah, I agree, as long as your not stuck in a foreign country, you shouldn''t be allowed to travel

  10. I think opening the borders isn't the best idea yet. I think people should be waiting until the vaccines are proven to cure the variants because if there is a world wide spread of variants many more lives will be lost including teenagers and children this time because the variant is much stronger. I don't think I will be travelling any time soon and I understand others are sick of the covid precautions but if we keep travelling and gathering were going to have to normalise this becoming an endemic and just living life with covid as a regular day.

  11. I really don't find it necessary to open borders, it would just complicate things. Travelling is really unnecessary at the moment. I would not want to travel right now because it seems like there is so many things to do before and after you travel and would make the trip more stressful than fun. Honestly I find it kind of funny that we created a new passport. I think it makes a lot of sense and is a really good idea for the people who do travel.

  12. I think that they shouldn't open borders, we aren't controlling it as good as we can at the moment and travelling will just make it worst especially now with the variant. The COVID-passport seems like a really good idea and will definitely ensure people of their safety but the vaccines don't really stop you from getting the virus it just makes it less severe if you do get it. I would totally love to travel and one half of me says yes yes and the other half is like no no because having the virus or variant doesn't seem fun at all.

  13. I think it's a bad idea to re-open boarders again. We are in our third wave, and we want to try and open boarders!? It's another way to bump back the numbers up. Just because you have the vaccine, does not mean you can anything you want. You can still infect someone else. So even if you are vaccinated, and go somewhere else, you can possibly infect other people who don't have the vaccine. I would love the travel again, but not now. It just does not seem like the right time to be able to travel again.

    1. Yeah, we are in the third wave so it is quite a bad idea to open the borders.

  14. I don't think it's that smart to be opening the borders, especially now since the cases are still pretty bad and we definitely don't need it to get worse. But also that travelling isn't necessary, mostly because there are so many things that aren't even gonna stay or be open because of the pandemic. But since it is open, i think it's pretty good idea for a Covid passport for the vaccination, it definitely makes sense for the sake of travelling. I don't think that right now i would be ready to travel during Covid, because I just really want to be free when i am travelling, and to be able to go with family, i would only go when this pandemic would be over cause then there will be so many more options/more activities and things like that, open.

  15. I personally don't think it's a good idea to be opening the borders again at this time. There are still places where the amount of cases is still pretty high. I feel that the Covid Passport can be useful and will make people feel safer when they go somewhere, but it's not going to solve the entire Covid travel ban. I do want to start travelling again, although I know I can wait until things have cleared up completely and there are no Covid cases left. It's something I enjoy doing, but I know the health and safety of me and the people around me is more important than a vacation.

  16. It's good and all that borders are open but like, come on, just because they are vaccinated doesn't mean they can't bring covid with them, on like their items and stuff. Plus the vaccine doesn't make you resistant to ALL the covid variants and you could brind a deadly variant to your country and hurt others and your family just because you couldn't resist looking at a big metal tower with coold lights in France.

  17. I honestly don't think it's a good idea to open the borders again. I just know people are going to take advantage of it and it won't help all of the cases that are still going up. Travelling also should not be our number one priority at the moment compared to other things like letting people get the vaccine.

  18. I think it's okay that they're opening the border from the vaccinated but like what's even the point like if you have a family there's no way that you're going to be together because your kids won't be vaccinated. Honestly I saw this type of transport passport coming because everyone wants to start traveling it's great to see some new sinory. I'm totally ready to start travelling. I'm probably going to visit my family in England.

  19. I think opening the borders is not a good idea. It's still too soon and the vaccines are just coming out and we don't know how long it will take for everyone to get one or what the long term effects will be. If the borders do end up opening, the passports aren't the worst idea, but how will you know if the people in the other country are vaccinated and are safe? That's why I will wait a while before travelling again.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I think that they shouldn't open the borders because someone is going to get COVID somehow and spread it to everyone on the plain. I think that the COVID passport is a good idea because people will be able to check if someone was tested and is safe. But people now can fake passports so what is going to stop them from doing it now. I would like to travel again but I don’t even like to go into public bathrooms.

  21. Although I think it's a good idea that there is now a covid passport I think it is really not a good idea to be travelling and opening up the borders at this moment covid cases keep going up and this is not the time to start using restrictions in my opinion yes it would be nice to go on a vacation I rather wait until covid gets better or is over for that matter before I travel to another country I rather play my part in stopping the spread.

  22. I think that opening the borders, especially with all of the variants and stuff going around, that it would be too much of a risk to open them up. Quebec has not been handling the whole Covid thing well, and seem to be more scared that the "langue francais" isn't protected enough rather then stopping a whole pandemic level virus from going around. I think the idea of a covid passport is a good idea, but that doesn't change my stance on how they shouldn't be allowing travel.

  23. I feel that a Covid passport is a great idea but that means at only the older age groups will be able to travel because a lot of the younger generations haven't been vaccinated yet. I think it's a good idea but borders should definetly not re-open yet. I love traveling much I really don't think it's time yet. By doing this, people can still get very sick and this pandemic will be on going.
