The OSCARS were presented last night.

OSCARS are awards for movies.

Imagine a world where NETFLIX, PRIME, DISNEY+ were non-existant!

Imagine that you had NO CELL PHONE and INTERNET was limited.

How would your pandemic experience be DIFFERENT?

Explain.

Comments

  1. If I had no cell phone and internet during the pandemic I would be so bored and the experience would be so different. Most of the pandemic I was facetiming my friends in Ontario, and that was the only thing that was keeping me sane. Also not having Netflix, Prime or Disney+ would possibly kill me because I was watching non-stop. For instance I would watch a whole season of a tv series in a day, and pretty much every night I would watch a movie. In addition, not having technology would make it hard to know what's going on in the world.

  2. I hate to admit that im addicted to not only my phone but other devices but I feel for me personally it would be extremely hard for me at the start of the pandemic to not use any electronics but when it became summer I could have gone the whole summer without touching my phone because I was always busy out with friends. Id say that I enjoy the outdoors a lot so I would have liked to go out more then stay on my phone. I kinda wish I grew up in a time where not everyone had phones, like my parents. I find it fun when they tell me their stories.

    1. I agree, when you're with friends, it makes the time pass by a lot faster

  3. I rarely use my phone (mostly because there is nothing on it, and I don't have social media) so I would not mind not having it. Netflix and Disney + is nice to have because you can watch movies throughout the pandemic. Without it it would be a bummer. I would have to get disks to watch movies and shows. The internet, however, played a big roll. I use it to watch YouTube and talk to my friends. If I could not do that, it would be quite boring. I still had my PlayStation though and that was entertaining. Without all this, I would go outside a lot more to pass the time.

  4. The entire pandemic I either drew, rode my bike or played on my phone, so the pandemic would've been really hard. If I had no access to the internet I'd spend all day drawing comics or something like that. I'd also ride my bike around the entire town. I'd also play my guitar too, but it would be hard to play any songs without the internet to look up the sheet music.

  5. So I have 2 different opinons on this. First, I think that during the colder months, it would have been so much harder to go on because you can't hang out with friends a ton, it would be so long and the days would feel like they're going on forever. However, in the summer, I think that it would be easier to live without my phone and streaming sevvices because I could go swimming, hang out with friends and even with covid, I had such a fun summer because it wasn't like we couldn't do anything.

    1. so true, this is one of the reasons i hate winter. it's too cold, and if we didnt have any internet and stuff, i'd be so bored out of my mind haha, great blog :)

  6. If I lived in a world without internet and cellphones especially during the pandemic my first option would honestly be to just sleep until the pandemic was over because there would be nothing else to do.But if i had to make the best of what i had Id definitely do things differently and learn to appreciate outside and going on spontaneous adventures with friends.Id do what my mom did when she was little by knocking at friends doors and playing street hockey or going to the field to play soccer.Id try new things and probably learn a new hobby everyday.

  7. My pandemic experience would be very different if I didn't have internet, streaming services or any social media. My phone and all the things I named are most of the things I do other than seeing my friends and family. If I were in a pandemic and I didn't have those things it would feel like the months were longer. I would feel a little disconnected to my friends and family. I would go bike or walk to there house to see them but because there would be a pandemic that wouldn't be possible unless you social distance, wear a mask, etc. To sum it up if I didn't have any of those things I would probably see my friends and family even more in person during the summer/spring although it would be hard to see them in the winter.

  8. I feel like the pandemic would've been really bad beacause most of the pandemic has been revolving around our technologie. Not just social media, but also things for school and work like Zoom. Also, during full quarantene when you couldn't see anyone, I know that at least I would be a lot more stressed and sad because I can't talk to anyone, not even family. When I watch old movies, it looks really fun seeing people just meeting up and doing random stuff, but at the same time I like having my social media.

  9. I honestly don't know what I'd do without the internet and all of this technology. During the pandemic, I am surrounded by all this technology and yet still bored and going crazy. During the first big lock down, all I ever did was lay in bed and watch Netflix and FaceTime friends, until I was forced to go outside everyday... Without Internet, I wouldn't be able to communicate with my friends which is extremely important to me. During quarentine, you weren't aloud to see anyone at all so at least I got to text and call my friends.

  10. I know I probably would’ve lost my mind if there was no electronic devices or internet. At the beginning, most of my quarantine time was spent on my electronics and the internet. So if I didn’t have the ability to watch movies and tv shows, I know I would’ve grown bored quite fast. I do read a lot but I still need a break sometimes from books and since I couldn’t get together with people or go places, Netflix was the next best thing. I feel like speaking in general if there wasn’t electronics or internet, we would’ve had a lot more people breaking the guidelines and going against the lockdown. It would have been way more chaotic than it was. More people would’ve been fined and arrested and cops would have most likely been out 24/7.

  11. If I didn't have my phone or internet, my quarantine time would have been different. I was already outside a lot but I would probably be outside even more. I would also hangout with friends a lot. I use Netflix a lot, in the evenings and through out the day. I would be quite board with out Netflix. I would probably go to sleep earlier and do more things outside.

  12. I'm pretty sure I'd be bored out of my mind, because honestly, netflix and disney+ are probably the 2 things that have kept me from feeling bored during quarantine. my house would most probably become chaotic because my siblings always get super bored if they can't play video games or watch tv too. overall i'm sure that my pandemic experience would have been totally different, but i'd probably either way be going outside more often to pass the time and be going outside to bike around with some friends too.

  13. I definitely think it would be hard but still possible. I would be going a lot more in my backyard and building things it would be a lot different. Also since I can't text my friends I would need to call them. In addition, since we are still in a pandemic, I can't really hang out with my friends because its still Covid so yeah that could also increase the bordum.

    1. Definitly would be harder, but I agree, still possible

  14. The pandemic experience would change 100% percent. I mean, 2/3 of the time, I was on some type of electronic device, talking to my friends or watching Netflix or Youtube. It would be a nightmare if there was no internet or wifi. I would have to communicate with my family, which would be horrible. I mean, a pro in this situation would be that there's no school since the school can't contact us at all, so I'd probably spend most of my time outside.

    1. I agree most of the time during quarantine I spent time on a device too

  15. If during the pandemic there was no internet or anything like that the whole experience would've been completely different. Especially during the beginning of the pandemic when it was colder and we were stuck inside everyday it would've extremely difficult to keep myself occupied. I probably just would've read more books than I did. It would probably be really chaotic because without any internet or anything like that my brother would have absolutely nothing to do and would resort to annoying me the entire time. I am just thankful that we did have internet and cellphones.

  16. WOw what a question. I live for Netflix, its my entertainment, its the best part of the day when I have school and homework. My pandemic would have sucked a lot even though it already did. I facetimed my friends a lot since I couldn't see them so I would become really anti-social and lonely. Internet is like useless without anything to use it with, but having technology, WiFi is key. So is data but not everyone has data so...

  17. Honestly netflix, disney+, and other streaming services are really useful, and honestly I wouldn't go as far as to say I can't live without them, but they are extremely useful. Although without tech most of my hobbies are gone, and don't exist anymore. I would probably end up talking to friends a lot more though. And on another topic the winter would be terrible, since it would be impossible to talk to friends.

  18. If I didn't have my phone, computer, Netflix, Disney+, etc, this pandemic would be really boring. Right now, besides seeing them at school, FaceTime, Houseparty and text are how I keep in touch with my friends. So that would be different. In fact if the internet was limited, I wouldn't even be doing this blog. So homework would be a lot different since most of the teachers use the internet for homework, assignment, etc. We would be using more paper which is not good for the environment All of my dancing right now is online, so I wouldn't be doing that either.

  19. If we had no electricity or anything digital during the pandemic, the world probably would have ended. People wouldn't have anything to entertain themselves, and you can't see other people. People would probably go crazy, especially the people who live alone. We really wouldn't have been able to do anything, since going outside wasn't really allowed and staying inside would have had no point.

    1. Oh ya, the people who live alone would have no one to play board games or craft with so they would probably die.

  20. My pandemic experience would be way different without netflix and disney+ because I watch a lot of movies and having them all just there makes it so easy. I would probably craft a lot more and if this was true I would have lived without the internet before the pandemic as well so I would probably be more used to it.

    1. It's true having netflix and disney+ makes the pandemic easier.

  21. The pandemic without the internet/technology would definitely be very different. It would be way more lonely because sure you'd have work and school to meet but that's your only human contact you have per day unless you have a family. I also think that without technology people wouldn't even know about Covid they would just think that it's a worst flu because technology is the best way to spread information.

    1. I never thought about the fact that our phones could spread information about this, great blog!

  22. If there was no internet I would have probably read a lot more, even more than I already do. I would have most likely read my entire book shelf including the Harry Potter series that is in my basement. I would probably reread most of the books since I would have found them interesting. The only problem is that when I read a book for a second, third or fourth time I tend to start screaming at my book because I know something and the characters don’t even if it’s very obvious. I know something because I have already completed the story. So there is a chance I would have driven myself to insanity if I didn’t have electronics to balance out the reading that I do.

  23. If I had no internet or cell phones, I would most definitely be bored. I would probably go crazy by not being able to talk to people other than my family. I love them, but after a while, it's enough. I mean I have three books I actually like reading, but how many times could I re-read them.
