Hello I would like to talk about blogs. Blogs are very interesting, they give a way to freely express yourself while also doing ethics and english work. The topics that are given to us guides so we dont go off topic. Also the blogs can help give us a constancy, like how we know we will always have a 3 blogs in a week. Also thank you to Mr.Katz for reminding us every week for our blogs. I am not the best with the consistency so the reminder did help. 74th blog!!

Deletei'll be talking about my love hate relationship with blogs. so first, i find that they can be very fun sometimes because the topics can be interesting. however, i do find that most of the time, the topics are pretty boring which makes the blogs boring. i also don't like that we have to do 2 for english every week and one for ethics, i feel like they should have been used less, but overall, there are worse things than blogs.

DeleteSo since I can't talk about potatoes nor their origin because I already wrote about that my blog is going to be about the potato famine. So I had to do some research to figure this out and it turns out the potato famine lasted for almost 10 years starting in 1845 and ending in 1852. The potato famine took place in Ireland. I'm not really surprised about that since I heard they grow quite a bit of potatoes there. Anyways so there was this disease called the late blight and it basically destroyed all the potatoes roots and leaves leaving nothing to eat. Now a days it wouldn't be that big of a deal if we didn't have potatoes I mean there delicious and a lot of people eat them but its not like back then. At the time people relied on potatoes for most of they diet.

DeleteI'm just going to blog about Covid 19. Man, I remember last year, in grade 7, these signs went up saying wash your hands. We heard on the news that there was this virus that was spreading in China called Coronavirus. Then before you know, BAM, school was canceled. I was happy there was no school, but then things got boring really fast. Life became so different. I was expecting it to go away by summer, but no, it continued. The entire summer was pretty boring and we did not get to go on any vacation like we normally do. Plus, when we went back to school, we had so many restrictions that just took way all the fun things about school. Now school is that word you would say that would make people shiver. It feels like Covid has been around FOREVER. Can it just END?!!?

DeleteFor my final blog I will be talking about a something fun that happened a few days ago. So I was chilling in my bad at around 11 pm on Tuesday night, I was about to turn my lights off when I hear my mom scream. So I get out of bed to see what was the matter. I heard my dad say "oH nO nOt AgAiN!" My first thought was my puppy pooped again but no. Instead there was a bat in my house. So I ran in my room and locked myself in there. 10 minutes later my parents said they got the bat out of the house but I should keep my room shut. The next day I asked them how it got in in the first place and they guessed the bathroom window that was wide open last night.

DeleteI don't really know what to write here, but I'll just talk about horror movies in general. A lot of people have very diverse feelings on them, and personally I love horror movies, how tense it is and how creative some directors are with their characters. There are a couple of really good horror movies/series out there, but some of my favourites are The Shinning, The Conjuring and Saw. I have watched a bunch over the past year or 2 that I realized that they are fun to watch, and a lot of them have been okay, but I have watched a handful that are super boring, either because nothing happens in it, or the character development doesn't exist. Some examples off of the top of my head that are on Netflix are Slenderman and Circle. The characters really sucked in that movie and it was a movie that I was on my phone for most of the movie.
ReplyDelete(Tw) For my blog I wanted to talk about something kind of serious. For those that don't know a 13 year old girl named Tristyn Baily was raped and murdered by her 14 year old FRIEND Aiden Fucci. Although what he did was horrific and disgusting, he only got 7 years in jail. Another case that happened in the 90s that you guys have most likely heard of is about the Menedez brothers. Their whole life they were abused physically, mentally and sexually by their parents. Their parents would do things like lock them in closets for days to molesting them and forcing them into doing sexual actions I won't get into (for more information you can do research on your own). Once they got older they killed they're parents because everything they've done to them. Yes what they did was wrong BUT they got a life sentence in jail. So Aiden Fucci a 14 year old boy that raped and stabbed a 7th grade girl only gets 7 years in jail and the Menedez brothers get life sentences for killing they're abusers/rapists. That genuinly doesn't sit right with me and I think Aiden deserves A LOT more time in jail.

DeleteFor my blog I wanted to explain my top 5 favourite little things that just bring my mood up.
ReplyDelete1, Remembering a dream. I don't know but when I have a good dream and for some reason i'll wake up in the middle of the dream and I like to finish the story of the dream in my head throughout the day. 2, Eating raspberries. Raspberries are my favourite fruit but I rarely ever get them. 3, Smilie park hill. Smilie park is a big soccer field near my house that has a nice size hill next to the field, when you sit on the top you can see over all the houses and it's beautiful. 4, Finding a pair of earbuds that don't leak the sound. I shouldn't need to explain that one, it should just be understood. 5, Unexpected complements. Those are just a day booster.

DeleteOne time my brother and I were at a outdoor event at Stuart hall and we ate raspberries just before. And half way through my brother threw up and it looked like blood.
DeleteI have no idea what I want to write about so I’m going to talk about my summer plans. This summer I will be doing many camps because this is my last year that I can do them. I have a birthday in December and I'm only thirteen so I don't qualify for many jobs. I am going to do an overnight camp in Ontario with some friends where I will be doing water sports and overall just having fun! I am going to other camps as well with some of my cousins. I don’t know what my family is doing this summer, I think we might rent a cottage, and I have been trying to convince my dad to buy a boat and he is considering it. So if we end up getting a boat I think my summer would be a lot more amusing.
ReplyDeleteI would like to blog about what i did last weekend with my friends.On Saturday i was going to my best friend's house with two other girls and spontaneously we decided to go to the old port.It was very exciting because since covid i havent really gotten out and went somewhere fun.The drive there was very fun on itself we blasted music and talked.When we got there we went to a delicious pizza place and then we went over to the ferris wheel.We took so many pictures and walked around everywhere.We ended the night getting ben and jerry's ice cream and then we rushed home just in time for curfew.
ReplyDeleteHello today I will be talking about why I don't like free blogs. Free blogs are annoying. I have to try to find a topic that I will have enough to talk about. I much prefer a regular blog, answering the question and explaining my ideas. I free blogs I have to find a topic which usually isn't as good as the topics in normal blogs. I am also not very creative in writing so I spend a bunch of time thinking about my topic instead of starting. That is why I don't like free blogs.

DeleteToday for my blog I'm going to elaborate on why I hate mini-backpacks. First things first, they suck butt. Also if you like mini-backpacks, I'm sorry this isn’t personal. I think that mini-backpacks are stupid people think that they look cool but they aren’t. Also if you are going to wear a backpack wear a real one. All you can fit in mini-backpacks are money and hand sanitizer or a phone, that’s it. If you wear a real backpack you can fit a water bottle, food, hand sanitizer, hammer, books, and more. Also mini-backpacks have those weak little straps that feel really uncomfortable. One time I was biking and I couldn’t find my backpack so I had to wear my mum’s mini-backpack and it was awful because it hurt and I could fit a small water bottle in it. So ya. In conclusion mini-backpacks suck.
ReplyDeleteI was going to go on and on about nickels, anteaters and cheese but I found something more interesting. I was watching a video of someone who had formed a "Country" in their yard, like they sent it to the UN and like 7 countries actually approved it and said "Mhm yup thats a country" and it was the size of like a house. So what I'm thinking is, we find a way to get the schoolboard to sell us a class, right, and we make a country in that class, the only problem is, TECHNICALLY we need Canada to approve the country notice thing, but whatever, its funnier if we say they do anyways. So after we get the classroom, we all get a mini government going, voted by school people, and students can go there to relax and we have rules chosen by the government, so if the government says "hmmmm homework bad" boom no homework because the teachers can't legally come in if the government says they can't and we don't technically have to put education laws in. We also have a spot to go if certain hall monitor esque teachers are trying to get you in trouble, we can retreat there and they can't come in and they can't punish us. WE ALSO can get an economy going, with businesses set up in the class if the "government" wants, andthen we can start investing in stocks, and its all around a good idea. ALSO last note, we are allowed our phones.

DeleteIn this blog I will explain why I want to eat a seagull: I'm out of ideas. Well first of all since there on the beach and I know that there incredibly stupid and drink salt water; which if you didn't know makes you even more dyhradetd. So I imagine they would be very salty and I like salty food. Second of all since seagulls eat a whole bunch of different food from the people on the beach they could have mixed flavours, granted they probably eat plastic so... And my last point is the fact that they are overpopulating so that gives me a reason to eat a seagull without someone judging me.

DeleteI don't really know what to write about, so I'll talk about what I had for dinner. For dinner, I had a spicy chicken sandwich from Duke & Divines. It had jalapeños, spicy mayo and cheese. It also had, as you may have guessed, chicken. It was pretty good, but now it feels like I have a rock in my stomach. Rating; 7.3/10. Fries lacked salt, and sandwich causes rock stomach syndrome (RSS). Thank you for your time.

DeleteI asked my mom what to write for my blog and she told me to write about the pita breads she made today, so I will be doing so. My mom decided to make homemade pits breads today. It's not the first time she makes them, but they were as good as always. I put chicken, lettuce and tzatziki in mine. A little plain, but it was very good. The pitas were very fluffy and soft. I had to eat one on it's own because it was so good. I'm extremely excited to eat one with nutella for breakfast tomorrow.

DeleteFor my last blog of the year, I will be talking about Marvel. I was going through our old blogs and I came across one, blog #13 "do you like superheros" and I said no. At that time they didn't interest me. NOW, I love superheros, specifically the Marvel superheros. I have to thank my friend, Amanda, for introducing to the MCU (marvel cinematic universe). I literally fell in love. I have been watching all 23 MCU movies over the past month. And now, I'm finally on Spider-Man: Far From Home, which I'll be watching tomorrow. Marvel has changed my life and will forever be one of my favourite fictional universes.
ReplyDeleteFor this last blog I’m going to talk about my dream place to visit. I don’t really remember if this was a previous topic but I’m still going to talk about it anyway. I don’t really have only one dream place but one place that I would like to visit would be Italy. I come from an italian family and a lot of my culture comes from there. I would want to visit the Colosseum and probably go to Venice just to see how different it is compared to any other place with real roads. This is why I would really want to visit Italy sometime in the future.
